We're Going Long Term Here

in Hive PHlast year (edited)

When you started out with 0 and got a positive gain with your time and effort spent here, you’ll realize this is one of the best opportunities available to get into crypto without risking any capital. The content you share on other sites would earn you anything. Here you share some mundane thought or talk about what happened on your normal day then presto! A few dollars in.

There’s no market research to do prior to posting unless your niche really does require you to provide well researched posts. For the most part, people can just do well sharing about their day and hobby without losing anything.

I’ve said this before in some long posts forgotten in the past, if you started Hive or entered crypto during times that were good, you’ll think that these market crashes are hell and that all those opportunities out there may just be scams waiting to unfold. But during the course of your stay on Hive, it just takes a few weeks to gather up some substantial amount of tokens then convert them for fiat just enough to know the money here is real.

Here’s a thought, the tokens you’ve been given can work for you in the form of staking and it compounds. When you choose to reinvest the rewards you’re reaping without minding the market volatility, everything just slowly grows steady and this stake was obtained for free. It’s scary to think you’re going to miss the boat if you don’t sell, it’s also scary to think you’re going to miss the boat if you did sell. Looking at the charts at any financial market, you’ll see everything happens in cycles and right now is just the downturn.

When will things be green again? Nobody knows, but they’ll do come and wouldn’t it be better if you were prepared to sell when times are good and buy when things go South? This is the long term investing game and you’ve been given free chips to play with. While most people folded early, those that remained on the platform grew and that’s how this community still exists, because there were some that remained and grew during the tough times.

For those new into crypto, you can either view this season as a test of your will and strategic planning, or you can just quit the space and move on to traditional investment vehicles. Nothing here is meant to be taken as financial advice and maybe your greener pastures are somewhere really outside crypto.

There’s a slogan HivePH has: “Walang Pera sa HivePH”

Until you start quantifying how efficient this account is when trying to accumulate and grow then redistribute some of the value directly to its members and other Filipinos not within the group. At the time of this writing, a regular member can trigger the #voteme command and get an upvote of 0.1$ on their post. Provided everything remains stable and the 50% of the post rewards is split into HBD and HP staked, you have 0.025 HBD just for a single vote from the @hivephilippines account.

EDIT: This is for the Hayahay/Basic Member Roles, users that engage more get more perks so 0.025$ is at the lower end of your potential gain.

Each member can use the account on their post or comment and if they use this daily, that would be 0.175$ within a week. Again, we’re just discussing hypothetical scenarios where market conditions outside remain stable, it’s unlikely that they do but this example still holds weight on the potential gains one could get just by existing in the platform.

The intangible opportunities with this attitude towards continuing to use Hive is the fact that you are motivated to show up on the platform and continue to post/comment which makes your chances of generating higher rewards for your time. If you just look at this from the base value of 0.025$ daily, it’s just a drop in the bucket. But factor in the power of compounding these interests where 20% APR is available when you stake your HBD.

I’m not big on the whole blog to earn model because it makes it hard for people who aren’t into content curation get something with their time on Hive. But if they can earn from doing simple engagement and maximize those rewards by compounding, there’s no doubt that they’ll earn far better than those still sticking around at web2 doing the same acts but never getting any kickback for their interactions.

The point that all these are given freely when you have a Hive account and accessible by a user from a developing nation is one of the best things to earn without borders. If you narrow your vision in what happens in the short term, just like a chart on the daily or weekly downtrend, everything is doom and gloom instead of thinking that things happen in a cycle and each part of the cycle there’s a strategy to maximize your gains.

What we’re building here as a community is an organization where all members that help build it win. When the community account upvotes, portion of the rewards are funneled toward it’s growth, incentivizing people that run it, the people that delegate to it, and members that become part of it even when they don’t contribute directly to the cause. Remember, each upvote means 50% of the potential reward payout goes back to the voter and they don’t necessarily have to like the person they are voting for just for those rewards. The conditions have been set for everyone to win.

I think people just undermine the impact they do when they’re onboarding new folks here. Whenever someone new enters the platform and they are guided what to do and earn some substantial amount for rewards, you effectively change someone’s life with this small encouragement. That they can be capable of creating some piece of content they can monetize, others can consume and willing to tip them for. When you onboard people here, especially those who have zero experience in crypto, you give them opportunities to know about the space and bring the space closer to mainstream use just one user at a time.

It’s nothing grand but definitely significant enough where people can pay their bills and put some food on the table. Sometimes they can get a good start with their financial journey for kicks and giggles given the rewards they receive here. And all it took for you is just introducing them to the place. HivePH’s relevance is having a space ready to receive people new and guide them how to thrive until they can go their own way. We’re not here to make people rich, but if the stuff we tell people make them thrive better here, great, good for them and may that favor be paid forward.

It can’t be helped if people just want to maximize whatever value they can extract, some exist to be member only for that but eventually, we’ll find ways to be more efficient at delivering more value to those that contribute more. That’s the purpose of implementing the Angkan Roles, these aren’t just vanity labels, these are means to recognize and funnel more value to those that chose to put more effort building this community up.

At the time of this writing, the previous budget allocation was 50/30/20 where 50% of the income stream goes to powering up the community, 30 for the staff, and 20 for the community activities and contests.

We had some overspending done during the previous months so some shift in the ratio had to be done as part of the long term balancing act. Now for most, it's really a foreign concept that half of the income generated goes back to the community account growth because why would anyone else be concerned about the community account growth on the short term? when the stake it accumulates compounds and it's it being used to vote everyone else on the community?

Indirectly, that value that goes it will find its way back to everyone and whatever this community gets from its members will eventually find its way redistributed to those that deserve it the most. Naturally, some members wouldn't get a cut in that 20% considering they don't participate in the contests nor do they get a cut in that 30% because they aren't in the stage where they want to step up. But they still get access to that 50% in small droplets that still compounds.

And members just need to show up, engagement or do something useful. The fact that we don't mandate anyone to delegate to the account but let members have free access just one way to redistribute those rewards.

Now if you want to chase big votes and do the quick and easy money approach, HivePH isn't the community for you.

Reminders sa mga nag bibigay ng funds for the community Xmas party, you the da real mvp. Sa mga hindi, ok lang. Sa mga delegators, you also the real mvp. Sa mga staff na patuloy nag tetwerk for the community, you da best.

Always worth upvoting and commenting on posts you find interesting as that love gets passed around and gets used by the people.

Great article :)

Long read but worth it. Honestly I never understand that much about crypto as of now. All i know is to have it while blogging and interacting and as what have you said, we cannot earn any crypto in other social media sites so why should i waste my time there. Go to sites that will help you earn a single crypto.

I am happy to be part of this Blogging site and to be part of this community.

Long live hive!
Long live hiveph!

Kudos to whoever wrote this beautiful piece of article. It ends like a feel-good movie. When the movie ends but you kept thinking about it. One of the best pieces of advice one could find in this post.

Thanks for sharing! Community is the most powerful feature of this Blockchain and was one of the major factors that made me stay here. And now even in dark crypto times I don't feel worried like I used to. I know that the effort you put during this bear market will help you tremendously in the next cycle.

Thanks for sharing this! You got yourself another member. 😉

I really enjoyed this post. You are right, community is the most important value of Hive. If you go it alone, you won't get any further. We need each other and together we will achieve great things.
