It has been planned months ago to have a Hive Ph meet up and back then I really don't know what to expect, but I was looking forward to it. This was actually my first time joining an online community and actually meeting with them. A few days before the event, within me, social anxiety and fear of the unknown were actually brewing. So I asked in the channel...
Most of us, especially those who spend a lot of our time on online platforms, get to meet online people, just like on Hivechain where we get to engage in the communities that we are inclined or fit our best interests. Later on, we get to connect with these people more often until they become our 'Online friends'.
One disadvantage and the irony I have realized with the technology of communication is the Physical disconnection, and I think there are a lot of factors in play, such as it brings us to our comfort zone, lowers our self-confidence and self-esteem, what else? I don't know about you but I'm speaking from personal assessment. So how much do we truly value these people?
Here comes Saturday!
It was so hot that day that 5:00 PM felt like 3 o'clock, the venue was about an hour away from me and so decided to leave at that time, it was a long weekend and I thought there was no traffic, and I thought wrong! And so my adventure began.
When I arrive at the train station the line seems endless, and time is already waiving at me and actually more like flipping me. I'm LATE! *facepalm*
I decided to take a different route, when arrive at Buendia Ave. there was no bus nor jeep and mostly traffic, I didn't want to stop and wait for transport and get stuck in traffic. I check the map, it says it's a 30-minute walk and I was like...

I had to make a stop and buy some water I was so thirsty halfway to it, @lhes messaged "Asan ka na? (Where are you?)".
As I was three blocks away from the event place. I wanted to just stay outside for a bit longer and cool down for a bit, but I was an hour and a half late already. (haha I'm sorry guys!) 🤣✌🏽

From where I was standing, saw an available chair, and as I was about to take it then the person next to it said "Kilala mo ba ako?"(Do you know me?), I said "Yes! You're Clara!" and then she started touching me and shit... HAHA, I'm kidding. 🤣✌🏽
And so the Party goes on!
A few minutes later after dinner as everyone was just chit-chatting, I went outside to smoke, a cab a block away stopped and down went @wittyzell and @jude.villarta, and we were like...
I couldn't help but smile and get excited it was my first time meeting them in person and as witty walked towards me we hugged! and so with jude.

I was really looking forward to meeting everyone from the server, @adamada was one of the people I normally get to talk to and joke around also @demotry and @akumagai whom I've met before, and I was really looking forward to drinking with Aku! and @tpkidkai the hard-working father, whom I'd say the total opposite of me but get to find common ground with and laugh about stuff, @maverickinvictus though he's not very active on the server, he seemed very composed and I just enjoy the night with I hope you had fun too and I apologize if you find me very loud and my lousy antics! sorryyy! 🤣
I thought @dennnmarc would tower over me since he looks very tall in his pictures and I thought I would feel insecure about it, but as I approach him and said "hi denn!" he's just his usual self "hello po~" very soft-spoken but later that night seems like ~~may alak at may balak~~!
@cli4d I haven't really had much interaction, but he definitely a cool person to be with (ehem.. denn) haha! I totally forgot @kraaaaa, who won the Chosen One Award! Although we've just met I love your introduction about how you went out of your comfort zone and joined the meet-up, it was great seeing you!
I probably took less than ten Photos in total on this event, aside from respecting the decision of the people in the event to stay anon on the blockchain, I mostly just enjoy the Moment while it lasted and the company of the newfound friend I've just met. and the photos above are one of those awesome moments that nobody would've believed happened unless it's captured.
Kudos to all the Staff and Admin who made this successful and possible and to all the people in it! Hopefully, this is just the beginning, and in the years to come, make it a bigger and better meet & greet for the Filipino Community of Hive.

Even though I wasn't able to take selfies or pictures with everyone, especially the ladies, I had fun interacting with them! I'll start with @romeskie you are such a mom! Even with your death stare (which I got scared of). I really felt how caring you are, thank you for the crochet beanie! earlier I jokingly said in the server to have a totebag giveaway made out of yarn(crochet) and @jonalyn2020, even though you weren't present, and we have rarely spoken to each other, thank you for the tote bag keychain that I received! You are so sweet! To @lhes you know we have been low-key talking about social stuff and you said you wanted to limit your friendship to anyone as just an 'acquaintance', I was really looking forward to meeting you in person since I consider you as one of my closest and @cindee08, ~~HAY NAKO!~~ haha kidding, you really are the best in making everyone laugh our ass off even when you're always on your Resting-bitch-face! Super glad to meet you in person!
When I sat down with @wittyzell, she was so sweet as she said, "Hi Mebu, I didn't know you're so friendly in person! Like friendly, friendly!". I guess I'm Lvl2 friendly haha I'm kidding, I was super happy I've met you you are so sweet! 🥰 To @arcgspy whom I always wanted to make bardagulan with but I feel like I get you so annoyed whenever I do, you're the one that I was really shy to say hi to same with @cthings hehe, I'm glad I've met you guys in person! I really felt bad about @jude.villarta who's was sick during her stay 🥲 I hope you still able to enjoy yourself just as @bananzell enjoy her night. 😏 To @ishishealing keep healing @nmore (pat on the back).

After a day from the official meet-up, @wittyzell asked to meet again in BGC for dinner before she goes back to Cebu and @adamada to Ilo-ilo and since I wasn't able to interact with Adam that much from the meet-up, I decided to join them for a coffee instead. This was probably because I really enjoy spending time with them in 'real life as they say'. For most of the people on #hive, it's all about monetary gains, about finances, about earnings. there's nothing wrong with that part of it all. If you haven't realized it yet we are living in a moment in time where technology is soaring high, but for some reason, there's this invisible entity dividing us all.
Such people like Witty who came from Japan, Adam from Ilo-ilo, Jude from Bukidnon, Claire from Cebu, Arc who went out of their comfort zone and break their anonymity, and so as the rest of the people who did and came, it takes a lot of guts and I believe on Equivalent exchange, it's such a shame not to give back the energy, effort, and resource they exerted for this. I'm not saying a master of this or I'm better, because after all I'm just a human and I have made mistakes myself and to be honest I am hating myself for that. I believe Real connection is far more valuable than money. Most of us have high social anxiety and the only way to break this is to practice true connection with one another. Life isn't all about ME, or YOU, it's not always about WINNING, or being above someone. One thing I have learned from the past...
I really hope everyone could learn to live the moment, enjoy life in the present, and create a lasting bond with each other in that way we can truly be #alive, Memories are PRICELESS!

The time I met with them at Denny's in BGC, Clara came along too! It was a fun time just chatting about whatever, it definitely wasn't a quiet table! Then somewhere from the far end table, a family was celebrating their kid's birthday, and as we started to hear them sing Happy birthday we joined in and sing along with them, it was so funny since the other table started singing as well! I guess the family was surprised and glad we made their kid's birthday extra special, after a while the birthday boy went up to our table and gave us a piece of his cake! 🤣 and so she made me subo some cake! Sweet! 🥰❤️ #issue

I wish I was there too. Reading it word by word gave me different emotions, I smile, I laugh quietly(because my son is sleeping right now), and the emotional eyes on me seems a teary eye for a don't know reason. Might be saying that somehow you found a real friends through online. Indeed online to offline. Hopefully there's another more like this and hopefully chances will allow that I can meet some of you too.
