Finally, I'm ready to share that day with you. I got married on Saturday, July 19th, and that day was the most important and greatest moment of my life so far. There are only a few moments like this in a man's life: the first meeting, getting married, having a child, and the marriage of one's children. Today, I will share the most important day of my life with you.

Let's go back to that morning. My wife had gone to the hairdresser. I was very excited because I had never seen my wife in her wedding dress before. There is a superstition known worldwide that it is bad luck for the groom to see the bride in her wedding dress before the wedding. That's why I had never seen my wife in her wedding dress. I was going to see her for the first time. Her makeup and dressing took a few hours, and since my appointment at the barber would take no more than 45 minutes, we went for coffee to pass the time while waiting with my brother. There are very ridiculous prices charged to couples getting married in Turkey. For example, I got a beard trim and asked for a hairstyle at the barber I went to, and I paid a total of 300 Turkish Liras for these. But I didn't tell him I was the groom. If I had told him I was the groom, I would have had to pay 2500 Turkish Liras. That's an 8-fold price increase. It's unacceptable, so many grooms don't mention it. Couples getting married have so many expenses during the wedding process, and while people should be helping them in this situation, they behave in the opposite way. I'm lucky I didn't go there wearing my suit lol.




After my wife's makeup was done, we went to a famous place there for the photo shoot. Our photographer did a really great job with this. The photos taken were perfect. Maybe I can examine this in more detail in a separate post, so for now I'll share a few photos with you. Just a small detail, he could have told me to smile more while taking the photo. I was so excited at the time that I forgot lol. In some photos, I look very serious, more serious than I should. It took a long time for us to receive these photos, but that's not a big deal. Many of my friends had problems during this process. Some said they never received their photos or that the photos were very bad.

After the shoot, we went home. There were still a few hours left until evening, but we decided to wait in the clothes we were wearing, especially since it was very difficult for my wife to take off and put on her wedding dress. Everyone came into the room and said nice things to us and motivated us. There were emotional moments within the family too. My wife's father's eyes filled with tears when he saw her in the wedding dress. Her grandmother cried a little. .

Then we went to the wedding hall, and the waiting began there too. The wedding was to start at 7 p.m., but the families had to be there beforehand to greet the guests. We couldn't go there at the last minute, could we? We waited in a room at the back. I think those were the most exciting moments for me. Because I didn't know exactly what to do, would I be able to dance well? Would anything go wrong? I was praying that there wouldn't be any problems at the wedding. Shortly before the wedding, an official came as the “bridal coach” and informed us about the organization of the wedding. They provided information on how everything would be done and put us at ease. It can sometimes feel good to have someone else planning things on your behalf.


I should mention that we were both a little nervous in the final moments of waiting. My wife's sister and friends came and chatted with us; if it weren't for them, we would have been bursting with anxiety. They also brought us water and other drinks. Eating something at that moment is not easy because if you spill it on yourself, it's a disaster. Maybe I don't care too much about this, but women are very sensitive about it.


The moment we saw the crowd, our excitement multiplied. There were over 1,000 people there, and I didn't know most of them, since first wedding was in my wife's hometown. We arrived to applause, and the official marriage ceremony began right away.

This was the exact moment I said “YES!” You can also see my wife's “YES” moment in the second photo. Our siblings were our witnesses. We are very lucky that they were able to be with us on this happy day. Having your favorite people with you on days like this is one of the most important things. We love our friends and relatives, but there are some who are indispensable. Siblings are like that; if my brother hadn't been there with me that day, I wouldn't have felt so happy.


The moment the signatures were made has always seemed strange to me. It's as if I were a soccer player signing a contract. That's exactly how I look in the photo XD


Our first photo with our family ID card. When this photo was taken, we were officially married. The marriage process was over, but the wedding was just beginning! By the way, I need to mention something that stressed me out a lot. The wedding coach came and asked us when the marriage officer would arrive, so I called the marriage officer. The marriage officer said he would be there right on time. I said, okay, but what exactly is right on time? 7:00 p.m.? 7:30 p.m.? I said I needed to share this with the wedding coach, and he told me to calm down. WTF? I'm getting married today, and this is one of the most exciting moments. I don't want you to be late, and I want the organization to be perfect, so I asked you when you would arrive, and this is your answer? Stay calm. I said okay to the marriage officer and hung up the phone. Unfortunately, I can't write here what I said to myself afterwards.

Other than that, it was a wonderful wedding. I don't want this post to be too long, and I know people probably won't read overly long posts, so I'll share the rest—the wedding itself—in the next post. Sonunda, sizinle o günü paylaşmaya hazırım. 19 Temmuz Cumartesi günü evlendim ve o gün şimdiye kadar yaşadığım hayatımın en önemli ve en büyük anıydı. Bir erkeğin hayatında böyle birkaç an vardır. İlk tanışma, evlenmesi, bir çocuğunun olması ve çocuklarının evliliği. Ben de bugün sizinle hayatımdaki en önemli günü paylaşacağım.

O günün sabahına gidelim. Eşim kuaföre gitmişti ben de kardeşimle birlikte kahve içmeye gittim. Çok heyecanlıydım çünkü eşimi daha önce hiç gelinlikle görmedim. Dünya genelinde bilinen bir batıl inanç, damadın düğünden önce gelini gelinlikle görmesi uğursuzluk getirir. Bu yüzden ben de eşimi hiç gelinlikle görmedim. İlk defa görecektim. Onun makyajı ve giyinmesi birkaç saat sürüyor, benim ise berberdeki işim en fazla 45 dakika süreceği için beklerken zaman geçirmek için kahve içmeye gittik. Türkiye'de evlenen çiftlere uygulanan çok saçma fiyatlar var. Örneğin gittiğim berberde sakal traşı oldum ve saçıma şekil vermesini istedim, bunlara toplam 300 Türk Lirası verdim. Ama ona damat olduğumu söylemedim. Eğer damat olduğumu söyleseydim 2500 Türk Lirası vermem gerekirdi. Bu 8 katlık bir fiyat artışı demek. Kabul edilebilir bir şey değil, bu yüzden birçok damat bunu söylemiyor. Evlenen çiftin düğün sürecinde çok fazla harcaması oluyor, insanların bu durumda yardımcı olması gerekirken tam tersi davranışlar sergiliyorlar. Oraya takım elbisemi giyip gitmediğim için şanslıyım.




Eşimin makyajı bittikten sonra fotoğraf çekimi için orada ünlü bir yere gittik. Fotoğrafçımız bu konuda gerçekten harika bir iş çıkardı. Çekilen fotoğraflar mükemmeldi. Belki bunu ayrı bir gönderide daha detaylamasına inceleyebilirim, bu yüzden şimdilik birkaç fotoğrafı sizinle paylaşacağım. Sadece ufak bir detay, fotoğrafı çekerken bana daha çok gülümsememi söyleyebilirdi. Ben o an çok heyecanlı olduğum için bunu unutabiliyorum lol. Bazı fotoğraflarda çok ciddi görünüyorum, olmamam gerektiği kadar ciddi. Sonrasında bu fotoğrafların bize ulaşması uzun sürdü ama bu çok büyük bir sorun değil. Bu süreçte sorun yaşayan pek çok arkadaşım vardı. Bazıları fotoğrafları asla alamadıklarını ya da çok kötü çekimler olduklarını söylüyordu.

Çekimden sonra eve geçtik. Akşama birkaç saat daha vardı ama özellikle eşimin gelinliğini çıkarıp giymesi çok zor olduğu için üzerimizdeki kıyafetlerle beklemeye karar verdik. Herkes odaya gelip bize güzel şeyler söylüyordu ve motive ediyordu. Aile içinde duygusal anlar da yaşanmadı değil. Eşimin babası onu gelinlikle gördüğünde gözleri doldu. Anneannesi biraz ağladı.

Sonra düğün salonuna geçtik ve orada da bekleme süreci başladı. Düğün akşam 7'de başlayacaktı ama öncesinde davetlileri karşılaşmak için aileler orada olmalıydı. Biz de son anda oraya gidemezdik değil mi? Arkadaki bir odada beklemeye koyulduk. Sanırım en heyecanlı olduğum anlar o anlardı. Çünkü tam olarak ne yapacağımı bilmiyordum, iyi dans edebilecek miyim? Herhangi bir aksilik olacak mı? Düğünde bir problem olmaması için dua ediyordum. Düğüne kısa bir süre kala "gelin koçu" olarak bir yetkili geldi ve düğünün organizasyonu hakkında bizi bilgilendirdi. Her şeyin nasıl yapılacağına dair bilgi verdi ve bizi rahatlattı. Birilerinin sizin adınıza plan yapıyor olması bazen iyi hissettiriyor.


Bekleyişin son dakikalarında ikimizin de biraz sıkıldığını söylemeliyim. Eşimin kardeşi ve arkadaşları gelip arada bizimle sohbet ediyorlardı, onlar olmasa sıkıntıdan patlardık. Bize su ve başka içecekler de getirdiler, o an bir şeyler yemek de hiç kolay değil çünkü üzerinize dökerseniz bu facia olur. Belki ben bunu aşırı umursamam ama kadınlar bu konuda çok hassas.


Kalabalığı gördüğümüz ilk an, heyecanımızı katladı. 1000 kişiden fazlası oradaydı ve ben çoğunu tanımıyordum, ilk düğün eşimin şehrinde olduğu için. Alkışlar arasında geldik ve doğruca resmi evlilik prosedürü başladı.



İşte bu tam "EVET!" dediğim an. İkinci fotoğrafta da eşimin "EVET" anını görebilirsiniz. İkimizin de nikah şahitleri kardeşi oldu. Bu mutlu günde yanımızda olabildikleri için çok şanslıyız. En sevdiğiniz insanların böyle günlerde yanınızda olması en önemli şeylerden biri. Dostlarımızı, akrabalarımızı severiz ama aralarında olmazsa olmazlar vardır. Kardeşler böyledir, o gün yanımda olmasa kendimi bu kadar mutlu hissedemezdim.


İmzaların atıldığı an bana hep garip gelmiştir. Sanki bir futbolcuymuşum da sözleşmeye imza atıyormuşum gibi. Fotoğrafta da tam olarak öyle görünüyorum XD


Aile cüzdanımızla ilk fotoğraf. Bu fotoğraf çekildiğinde resmi olarak evliydik. Nikah tamamlandı ama düğün yeni başlıyordu! Bu arada beni çok geren bir şeyden bahsetmem gerekiyor. Gelin koçu gelip bize nikah memurunun ne zaman geleceğini sordu ve ben de nikah memurunu aradım. Nikah memuru da tam zamanında orada olacağını söyledi. Ben de dedim ki pekala ama tam zamanı ne zaman? Saat 19.00 mu? 19.30 mu? Bunu gelin koçuyla paylaşmam gerektiğini söyledim ve o da bana sakin olmamı söyledi. WTF? Bugün evleniyorum ve en heyecanlı anlardan biri, geç kalmanı istemiyorum ve organizasyonun da mükemmel olmasını istiyorum, bu yüzden sana ne zaman geleceğini sordum ve cevabın bu mu? Sakin ol. Nikah memuruna pekala diyip telefonu kapattım. Sonrasında kendi kendime söylendiğim şeyleri buraya yazamayacağım maalesef.

Bunun dışında harika bir nikah oldu.
