Memories Stored In My Photos

So I decided to dig up the photos in my iCloud and join this Memory Lane contest.
I knew it was going to take an extra effort to do that and even after being so caught up with offline work, I still feel like squeezing out time to do this.
I didn't wanna miss it for anything.
Though I didn't really find the stunning and more adventurous photos I had, I know it might take a whole day to find those so I am left with these few I will be sharing.

I don't know why but my memories saved in photos are never erased. Immediately I see a photo I can easily remember what happened the day I took it or why I even captured it in the first place.
This is a great connection I have with my memories of photos.
I guess it more reason why I find it very difficult to delete or discard any of my photos no matter how it takes up my memory or storage space. I would rather use up my storage space for photographs than use it for movies. This is to illustrate how many photos I have stored on my devices.

My Photo(s) Memory Store

I didn't know where I should start exactly so I decided to start just anywhere. And for some reason, I chose the bush burning photo as the starting photo. This happened on March 19, 2020, just during the covid-19 period when everyone was asked to stay at home.
When things became a little difficult for some people.
This is when the intensive farming activities began. With everyone staying indoors without any hope of work or businesses to bring in money, everyone was driven into farming.
Those who had abandoned their farmland for a very long time seized the opportunity to till the soil and start planting again.
Many cultivated their farmland with various kinds of farm products.

This bush burning happened quite close to my home. We have a neighbor whose farmland is just on the other side of our fence.
They cleared the farmland before the day I took this shot.
When the grasses and leaves were dry, they decided to set fire to the farmland to make it easier for tilling and cultivating crops.

I did find the fire distinctive, so I rushed into the house and grabbed my phone. I didn't have a very good phone then. I just managed the itel phone brand I had to capture this image. If I had a better phone then, this photo would have look way better and clearer than this.
I captured the moment. The fire burnt the whole bush until nothing was left on the farmland again.

Sunset! one of the scenes I love watching. Seeing every sunset makes me live in the consciousness that it's time to hurry home from wherever I was and get ready for the night rest.
It reminds me of God's faithfulness and mercy towards mankind.
That every day we get to witness the sunrise and of course sunset.

This very day was on June 28, 2019. A friend came to visit. We had no work, no school. We both were at home so she put a call through and told me she was coming to the house. No, it wasn't a surprise visit because she had to be sure I was home cause according to her, I never stayed one place and she is right in a way😅😁 not until the pandemic came to teach me how to settle one place and stay indoors lol.

So the friend came to visit me. We had our best time and moments, discussed a few things in all areas of life we could discuss that day, and when it was time for her to head back home, I accompanied her to where she would board a transit back home.
It was evening already of course and the sun was setting already.
I couldn't believe my eyes. Why do you think I said that? That is because of all the sunset photos I have and have captured before, this happens to be the very first sunset with the sun as yellowish/orange in color ad this.

I will tell you the truth, I have always admired the sunsets in other places because I felt their sun was more yellowish than ours 🤣 crazy right?. Well, I think it also had a thing to do with the camera they use to capture those sunsets and the edit on them.
I never knew this, yes I was ignorant about the whole thing so I had always thought it is only that their sun is different from ours and deeper in color than ours.

Meet our layer birds. The good thing about these birds is that they lay eggs and being opportune to have these birds meant access to have eggs as many as I ever wanted and could consume.
Yes, I love eggs and I am not very obsessed with chicken or the bird itself.

This photo was taken on July 1, 2017. Quite long right?. This is when my dad used to have a poultry farm for rearing birds. Though we had a mixture of both layer birds and broilers my major concern was with the layer birds which I like very much.
Though layer birds don't have much fresh or meat like the broilers, I still prefer or choose it over broilers.

The stress of rearing birds and the cost of maintenance is just out of this world so my dad decided to take a break for sometimes but I am glad he is up with the whole thing again but this time only just one type of bird and that's the broilers.

Rain! Oh, rain! Yes, I love rain, snow, winter. Everything that has to do with rain, I just love.
One faithful day, I went to buy a few things for my mom.
On my way, the cloud started changing color, yeah it was about to let down a heavy downpour. It was on July 11, 2019. I didn't know if I should stay back or continue with my journey. Yes, I was worried because I didn't want to risk being soaked in the rain if it eventually pours. So I was left contemplating on what to do and the best decision to take.

I don't know why, but I chose to go ahead with the errand amidst the troubled cloud. Did it later rain? The answer is yes. Was I soaked? The answer is No
I was able to go buy the few things I was sent and came back before the rain started pouring.
Inasmuch as I love rainy days, I can't risk being soaked in it.
Sometimes I shiver unbearably and other times I get sick so I am very careful not to stay in the rain for a long time.

Violá! The difference is clear, right? I mean the quality of the previous photos to this one. Even if you don't say it, I will shout it again and again. Yes, the difference is very clear in quality and appearance.

I captured this photo last year on the 9th of October 2020. I got my new phone around August last year so it was quite close to when I bought the phone.

The shot was taken from my house. I went to braid my hair with a neighbor. We sat outside, under an orange tree to braid, and from the photo, you can tell that it's an orange tree.

By now you should know my love for the sky already. My love for it is incomparable. The day was very sunny, more reason why we had to stay under a tree to make use of the shed the tree provided.
I took the shot from beneath the orange tree. I liked how the photo came out.
It's not perfect but it's lovely and of course, I like it very well.

The second photo here I captured with my new phone.
This one was on August 26, 2020. Now, this is just right at the corner of the time I bought my new phone. It was not too long after getting the phone, one morning when I went outside, I noticed this dragonfly on the rope, I took out my phone, turned on the camera, and captured this little creature.
I don't know what made me even capture it in the first place but I think I did like its posture on the rope that was why I captured it
And for some reason, I left it in my gallery even when I haven't made use of it before.

From then henceforth, I kept taking pictures and capturing everything I saw with my new phone.
I wouldn't say it is the best but it's better than the old one and that is all that matters.

I really didn't know how this whole memory lane story will come out but I am glad I started anyway and at the end of this, all I can say is that memories are worth keeping especially in photos.
And I also want to use this opportunity to thank @enginewitty for such a chance to share our memories using photos.

And now I have fulfilled all righteous with this entry and I can't wait to do more of such contest. It always sparks the energy and drives in us.

Can totally see the difference in quality between then and now! Especially the wings on the dragonfly compared to the (lack of) definition in the flames on the fire. Used to raise chickens and they're relatively cheap here, but dogs and coyotes love to eat them so it only lasted about 3 years before they found mine 😎

Hahahha, yes. Isn't it funny how poor that camera quality was? But it still helped me through that period lol.

Chicken isn't cheap here. Now I see why the white consume chickens more 🤭

Always lovely to see where people live and what their world looks like

I bet it is.
