Train in the Distance
Its hard to see but there is a train in the distance waiting for a signal. How can he be that close to the crossing w/o it being active

As an old railroad signal maintainer. I can tell you that today’s trains are mostly automated and use antennas to “sniff” track circuit information that tells the engineer how to approach and move through a crossing or signal.
