Great interview. I'm a huge fan of short-form content and think we should definitely have a place on Hive for it. I know this is a huge debate in the community. I'm a pretty big fan of @dbuzz as well or at least what they're trying to accomplish with short-form content on Hive.
We also have SoMee now for a Facebook like experience, although it seems like they're having some issues porting over to Hive. At least I've had issues using their front-end. Still we now have Dbuzz, LeoThreads, and SoMee for short-form content, it's great seeing developers utilizing our blockchain for these projects. Oh, and I think we have an image (Instagram like) front-end too but I can't think of the name.
Regardless, we need to be inclusive welcoming developers. As long as the platform isn't promoting blatant spam or upsetting the "community standards" I don't see a problem welcoming developers that cater to short-form content.
I get people getting upset about rewards and short-form content. I like the idea of rewards based on character count. Seems to be an easy fix for everyone, not sure if it's a coding nightmare. However, I think if we're going to be welcoming development on "OUR" blockchain, we shouldn't place the burden of "rewards throttling" on the developer, if we don't like the way the rewards are distributed, then a coding solution "onchain" seems to be the right answer not placing the blame and burden on the developer.
Anyway, just saying. I'd like to see a solution to this problem and debate. The more people utilizing the Hive blockchain, the merrier IMHO. That's kind of what this is all about, everyone doing their own thing. True decentralization and nobody really dictating what can or can't be posted.
