Back before #steemithostiletakeover I really loved playing @nextcolony. However, rather than following the crowd, they shutdown. Does anyone know if a group has picked it up to run with?

And if not, anyone know how much it would cost to restart it with the old code base?

i have not played that game. 🤔🤔

That's a shame, I think they raised like $15k - $30k USD from the sale of in-game items.

If anyone knows who the devs are there should be some accountability now that #Hive is clearly the leader IMO.

Yeah, I really enjoyed playing it and was just getting good when they made the announcement.

I don't know enough to start the project up again, but if nothing happens with it by Jan, maybe I will make it my winter project.

You in @chrisrice?

Ah cool, you are a software developer?

Ummm, sort of. By trade I'm an engineer and integrator. By fun I "hack" things together.

Cool.. can you explain what an #integrator is?

It's my first time hearing of it 🤔

It basically means that I take black boxes and put them all together and develop the "glue" whether that is software, wires, etc. that makes a system do the thing that it is supposed to.

Typcically this is in a large industrial context like in mining, power generation, etc; but lately I've been working on smaller projects that have a lot more software integration vs hardware.

Ah cool! Got it now :)
