Hive SBI means "Stake Based Income" on Hive. To participate in it, you need to do the following:
@fnvdesigns.Alternatively, you can just delegate Hive Power to @steembasicincome instead of sending HIVE. You get 0.5 SBI units for every 1 Hive Power you delegate as long as you continue the delegation.

I'll add that I get less profit from SBI than delegating the same amount, (or so I feel, didn't calculate it, have you @savvyplayer?) especially when you consider you have to post to get SBI's upvotes.

Without an easy way to know how they calculate how much worth of curation you accumulate over time, it's so difficult to determine whether "sponsoring" or delegating gives more profit from Hive SBI. 🤯

Sponsoring is almost always a higher APR than delegation for bonus units, but delegation gives you more flexibility (you can always recall delegation, but sponsorship is subject to intentionally draconian refund policy).
thanks for your answeres. are you part of their team? i sended two times ten hive for an sponsoring. first time i forget the @. but for both peakd dont show a sbi unit for me. i wanted to sponsor fnvdesigns. first time i send without @
I am the founder of Hive SBI. The @ shouldn't matter, but our API was down for a few hours this morning so you probably checked peakd during that interval. It's back up and you can see it now.

how do you mean this over time? is it changing over time?
Every period of time (probably per hour), the "upvote worth" of #sbi for you gets "charged up", whose speed is determined by the amount of Hive SBI units you "own". When the "upvote worth" is large enough (probaby $0.03) to be significantly above the dust vote threshold the next time you post, they put all your accumulated "upvote worth" on your new post, then the "upvote worth" gets reset to zero.
Maybe @ahmadmangazap can provide an alternative explanation for you.

broadly accurate, but here are some specifics:
pending balance accrues every 2.4 hours (10 rounds daily)
Minimum upvote threshold is $0.02, but only 1/3 of pending balance is upvoted at a time, so your pending balance needs to reach $0.06 to receive next vote (all newly enrolled accounts start at $0.06 to get their first upvote right away).
If your latest post is older than 1 day when your upvote threshold is reached then it waits until your next post comes out.

Hello! So you go into your wallet (on Peakd, I'm not sure what it looks like on other front ends), and click on "others" which is on the left of the screen. There you will see Hive SBI shares and a button that says "sponsor." You sponsor someone else, and you both get shares - one for you and one for your friend. It's the same price, it's just a nice way to share the wealth. Each share costs 1 Hive.
Alternatively, people do contests where you can win shares, so be sure to look for those too!
