On the 3rd of May 2015

in Discovery-it11 months ago

Like every day in the last few decades or so, I took a bunch of photographs on the 3rd of May 2015.

I decided to start this post with some old houses in Medulin, my hometown.

Here you can see the Pararge aegeria butterfly. It was photographed on the outskirts of the same town. In the meadow less than a hundred meters from my house.

Here you can see the entrance and the yard of another old house in the old center of Medulin. It was sunny when the photograph was taken. Some minutes later ...

... a wandering cloud came between the sun and the town, so the same scene looks different in this shot.

I shaved my head on the 3rd of May 2015 ...

... and I decided to have some fun & take a couple of selfies before the shaving job is completed.

Today, I had a bit of Photoshop fun while creating this image.

This is the Chrysolina herbacea, a beetle from the Chrysomelidae family.

(Enlargeable)

I photographed a bunch of them in the meadows a kilometer or two from town.

Here you can see a beetle descending the leaf of grass.

Groups like the one shown in this photograph can be seen during mating time.

The scenery shown in this photograph looks considerably different today. The photograph was taken in Medulin, not far from the main square of the old town.

This shot was taken in the park near the harbor.

Here you can see a dandelion. I mean, two dandelions ...

(Enlargeable)

... photographed in my yard.

(Enlargeable)

The old writings on the facade of the old building, shown in this and the following two photographs ...

(Enlargeable)

... aren't visible anymore.

I'm glad that I photographed them in time.

Here you can see the buds on the Verbascum phoeniceum plant. In the following photograph ...

... you can take a look at the completely developed flower.

The buds remind me of some small starfish that live in the mud of the bay. These are some very cool and fairly unusual buds. I photographed the Verbascum phoeniceum somewhere on the outskirts of town. Probably near the sea.

Here you can see some old buildings in the center and in the following photograph...

... some plants that grew on the stone wall in the same area.

This fly from the Syrphidae family was photographed in an oak grove a couple of kilometers from Medulin. Can't tell you the name of the species.

(Enlargeable)

This is a scene from my yard.

(Enlargeable)

The same action continues in this set of six shots taken a minute or two later.

(Enlargeable)

Here you can see the pine trees in the archeological park Vizula, near the harbor of Medulin.

And that's it.

AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK.

THE END

Very funny! you are pure Terminator here. Have a !PIZZA, and you will become more human-esque 🤪

Interesting compilation of photos, there is a little bit of everything in each image, even a terminator version of @borjan haha. It was quite curious the agglomeration of those chrysomelids, a species with a quite striking color, all the insects that have metallic colors look like jewelry or toy. I really like the atmosphere that is seen in every corner you photographed, I would say that the houses you show have a long time, that makes them more striking for the type of architecture that is achieved to see. Greetings my friend.

🙂 Greetings. Have a great day.

Thank you. 🙂 I like those little creatures and plant details.

The selfies remind me of the villan in Aladin, what was his name again? Jafar, I think 🤔🧐.

The flower is quite interesting looking, the shape and colour are both something we don't see often where I'm from.

And the bee!! He joined the HIVE 🤣🐝🍯

Yes, I think that was the name of the evil dude. 😀

Those bugs look to me Jewel Bugs. Are they different from them?

Jes. They are different. But they have one thing in common - the shine. The beautiful iridescence. They all definitively look like some kind of jewels.

Yes this one I captured when they visited my zinnia plant.

Great photography. Love your photography 😍. Hats off dear. Green colored beetle is pretty awesome and pine trees looks great. At above pictures, in somewhere rural areas you have shown , just great. Best of luck dear.

haha, You were looking like an alien in that picture in the bathroom, Your eyes perfectly catch the camera light, It usually happens to cats when you capture their pictures.

You do post some quite unusual photos, always interesting viewing !LOL !hiqvote
