My Actifit Report Card: November 28 2022

Sunny morning, last day off before going back to work! Just the opportunity for a cycle ride.

But by the time I managed to get out the clouds were rolling in! It did start to rain but very lightly so I continued on my way and enjoyed it a lot.

Starting off heading to Buchan Park. It was very wet everywhere due to the volume of rain this month. I tried to keep to the hard tracks as much as possible for obvious reasons.

But temptation got the better of me and I tried a softer track before returning quickly to the main route! Another thing to avoid in these conditions is tree roots which can be very treacherous if covered by leaves so that they are invisible.

So out of Buchan Park and on to Tilgate Park via roads and cycle tracks.

Tilgate is a much bigger park with a restaurant and large car park. The lakes are wonderful and today we're host to many pairs of swans. I was surprised to see so many on the same lake as they are fiercely territorial.

Tilgate Park is a colourful place at any time of year and has many flooded areas at the moment too.

It is enjoyable to ride in most conditions even if a bit wet. My bike does not have mudguards as I don't use it as a road bike or for anything but pleasure riding so don't really need them. Just occasionally I do get a wet backside as happened today. But it's worth it! 😉
