Hello everyone π»,
TGIF ππ and a very warm welcome to my report. I trust your day is going well π―, mine has been awesome and it's now that time of day to slow down and fill you in on how it went including the trending stories that caught my eye π.
Thank you for stopping by and let's get it on π¨.
So I began my day with a quick walk around the neighborhood. Another cloudy chilly morning but I was dressed appropriately.
Then I was back indoors after about 20 minutes of walking ending up at the grocery.
I set out to do some house chores before settling down to some you tube videos and checking on trending stories on x.
There was some lovely sunshine π during the day for a while but by 4pm it was darkπΉ.
The evening saw me out for my final walk around the park before heading back indoors
So now let's quickly take a look at what has been trending.
In Gaza the bloodshed continued with deaths reported across the stripπΏ. Though I didn't get the figures.
Meanwhile Kamal Adwan hospital in the north is on the brink of collapse as it ran out of electricity after several Israeli attacksπ.
Across the strip there's imminent famine as Israel continues to block aid. Most bakeries have ran out of flour and no longer operateπ.
Not far off, 62 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon. These include 5 paramedics in south of Lebanon. Upto 1.2 million people have been displacedπ.
I wonder what happened with the ceasefire talks after special US envoy Amos Hochstein was in the area a few days ago?
In the other war, Putin has said he will continue using the oreshnik missile on Ukraine. He used it in Dnipro where witnesses say it triggered explosions which went on for three hoursπ.
The oreshnik hypersonic missiles fly at ten times the speed of sound and cannot be interceptedπ.
This was used after Ukraine fired US and British missiles into Russia for the first time.
In the UK, a security scare caused evacuation at Gatwick airport. Travellers were asked to leave the south terminal when a suspicious item was found in a piece of luggage. Crowds of passengers waited outside, while a bomb squad investigated.
The terminal was reopened after about six hours. More than 600 flights were disruptedπ.
Across the pond in the US, a judge has postponed sentencing in Trump's case. A president elect or sitting president cannot be convicted. Probably the case will be thrown out or will he be prosecuted after his four year term?πΉ.
Meanwhile, he has picked Pam Bondi as new nominee for attorney general after Matt Gaetz removed himself from the role.
Am not seeing any brothas or sistas in these nominationsπΉ.
Finally, at COP29 in Baku Azerbaijan, vulnerable nations have said the $250 billion annual climate finance offer by rich countries was a jokeπΉ.
They are instead seeking $1.3 trillion annually to deal with the damage caused by climate change. They are saying the rich countries need to take full responsibility for the climate crisis they have causedπ―.
The negotiations were supposed to end this Friday evening but will now be extended into overtime to get a reasonable deal satisfactory to both parties.
Best of luckπ€π―.
So that's about it from me, see you again tomorrow on an amazing Saturday or is it Caturday ππΉ. Until then, it's good night π΄ and Adios β€οΈ. Hakuna Matata π»π―
