🔊 Time 2 Remember VISION CONTROL

Hello dear friends,

I've been a little on Youtube today and listened to a few older tracks from the good time just before the turn of the millennium. I also came across a remix I did around 1998 or 1999 for the trance classic "Vision Control" by Marino Stephano.

In Germany, the track was licensed to the then very hip trance/hardtrance label Fog Areal Records. From the boss of this label I also got the order to remix "Vision Control" officially. That's why the remix can't be found on the original vinyl, but only on the German pressing on Fog Area Records.

For this remix I got a lot of praise at the time. Actually, the remix was also a bit harder than the sound that I usually made and make. By the way, the acid lines were created with the Nord Lead 2 or Virus A. I never owned a 303 at any time. You just have to know how to help yourself. For today's time, a release in epic length of over 9 minutes including a spacey intro is almost impossible.
Nowadays everything has to be fast and short. The attention span of the music listeners has decreased a lot. This is probably due to the fast-moving time.

Unfortunately, Marino Stephano also died much too early and much too young in a car accident when he was on his way to a collab with M.I.K.E. "Push". A big Trance hit, which also entered various single sales charts, was Marino's masterpiece "Dream Universe", which he released under the pseudonym CM. This timelessly cool trance number is still reissued again and again today. For me, this track is also one of the Trance milestones at all.

In the last post on HIVE I already announced a new single from Klubbignman and me. This will probably be officially released at the end of October. Before that the track "Kissing Me Now" will be released on Klubbstyle. Today I already wrote the labelcopy and the press release. You can look forward to a hopefully successful progressive trance track.

Hallo liebe Freunde,

ich bin heute mal ein wenig auf Youtube unterwegs gewesen und habe ein paar ältere Tracks aus der guten Zeit kurz vor der Jahrtausendwende angehört. Dabei bin ich auch einen Remix gestoßen, den ich so um 1998 oder 1999 für den Trance Klassiker "Vision Control" von Marino Stephano erstellt habe.

In Deutschland wurde der Track auf das damals sehr angesagte Trance /Hardtrance Label Fog Areal Records lizenziert. Vom Chef dieses Labels bekam ich auch den Auftrag, "Vision Control" offiziell zu remixen. Daher ist der Remix auch nicht auf der Original Vinyl zu finden, sondern eben erst ab der deutschen Pressung auf Fog Area Records.

Für diesen Remix habe ich seiner Zeit sehr viel Lob bekommen. Eigentlich war der Remix auch etwas härter als der Sound, den ich sonst so gefahren habe. Die Acid Lines sind übrigens mit dem Nord Lead 2 oder Virus A erstellt. Eine 303 habe ich zu keiner Zeit besessen. Da muß man sich eben zu helfen wissen. Für die heutige Zeit fast kaum noch umsetzber ist ein Release in epischer Länge von über 9 Minuten mitsamt spacigem Intro.
Heutzutage muß alles schnell schnell und kurz sein. Die Aufmerksamkeitsspanne der Musikhörer ist stark gesunken. Das ist wohl des schnelllebigen Zeitgeistes zu verdanken.

Leider verstarb Marino Stephano auch viel zu früh und viel zu jung bei einem Autounfall, als er auf dem Weg zu einer Collab mit M.I.K.E. "Push" war. Ein großer Trance Hit, der auch in diverse Single Verkaufscharts einstieg, war Marinos Meisterwerk "Dream Universe", das er unter dem Pseudonym CM veröffentlichte. Diese zeitlos geile Trance Nummer wird auch heute noch immer wieder neu aufgelegt. Für mich ist dieser Track auch einer der Trance Meilensteine überhaupt.

Im letzten Post auf HIVE hatte ich bereits eine neue Single von Klubbignman und mir angekündigt. Diese wird vorraussichtlich Ende Oktober offiziell releaset werden. Vorher wird wohl von mir noch der Track "Kissing Me Now" auf Klubbstyle veröffentlicht werden. Heute habe ich bereits die Labelcopy und den Pressetext dazu verfasst. Ihr könnt Euch da auf einen hoffentlich gelungenen Progressive Trance Track freuen.
