Mamela (Listen) was written by @jasperdick quite some time ago, and I'm so grateful he's dusted it off and included it in our live repertoire.
I believe there has been no more poignant time in our lives for this song to be sung. The time has come for change. Change in mindsets, change in how we treat each other, and change in how we allow those in power to influence us and polarise us.
We are stronger together.
Thank you so much TOMS - Cape Town for affording us the opportunity to enter and to everyone, especially you guys here on hive, who went all the way over to the dreaded facebook to vote and who supported us in the competition, and helped us win. It was such an honour to sing, perform and share our songs that are so close to our heart.
I love listening to this duet. You guys are amazing, I congratulate you for the work you do together. The studio where you make the recordings seems so great to me, surrounded by musical instruments, especially guitars, and a piano.

Hello my friend! The venue is actually a music shop in the city centre of Cape Town. They were holding a competition to win a guitar, where you had to come in and film yourself playing on one of their guitars (you can see the price-tag still hanging off the guitar!) and then share the video to Facebook to try and get the most views!
The video that @clairemobey then shared (3 songs - this one and two that she wrote) actually won the competition... so she is now the proud owner of an excellent electric-acoustic steel string guitar quite similar to the one I'm playing here but a bit more to her taste!!

@yisusth Thank you so much! As @jasperdick said below, its actually a music retail store. We are hoping to record properly this year though! I am thrilled with my new and beautiful guitar. The sound difference is just phenomenal in comparison to my old beat up nylon. I was truly blessed to win. I need lessons though! I've picked up some awful bad habits over the years and I need to relearn my scales and look at finger/ hand strengthening exercises. The cheats I used to use on my old guitar, don't work at all on the steel string. Looks like I'll have to do this properly 🙈❤️
