HELLO RAVERS

Welcome in the legendary #technofriday, a place in the cryptosphere where you can always find the finest electronic music just right before the weekend. Doesn't matter if its a techno legend or emerging artist, extended discography, studio mix or single track, you can be sure about the quality. The bar is always high. Especially for this Friday, RAVING FOXES prepared a material about the newest avant-garde release from the respected techno producer known as

SHED

René Pawlowitz is a highly respected berlin-based techno DJ and producer with almost two decades of the stage activity. During this time he has build his own distinctive style on visionary idea of blending together genres like dubstep, hardcore, chicago house, detroit techno, ambient, breakbeat and jungle but always faithful to the techno aesthetics. Diversity of musical projects can be expressed with a quite impressive number of Sheds's monikers: Craft, Distance Dancer, EQD, Evil Fred, Head High, Hoover1, Operation Amplified, PCK, René Pawlowitz, Rhythm-Spd, Seelow, Sigg Gonzalez, Stable Mates, STP, The Higher, The Panamax Project, The Traveller, War Easy Made, Wax, WK7. He is also owner of Nowt Music Berlin music label known as POWERHOUSE. Taking a shot on René's full-bio is like a catching for a solid lecture, a heavy book for long winter nights. Instead warming tee and reading session under comfy blanket, lets jump quickly to his newest, a bit dystopian release below!

Shed - Sweep [TEC112]

TECTONIC EP released October 9th, 2020 via British label Tectonic Records is somehow a silence-breaker from Shed, awakened moniker after more than a year of absence. It's his first outing, since releasing his long play album Oderbruch for legendary Ostgut Ton, institution established by the fathers of the most influential techno church in the world - Berghain. While [OSTGUTLP33] was full of majestatic and ethereal ambientechno sounds, newest [TEC112] is somehow a reminiscent of the 2008/2009 dubstep and techno crossover period. Before this release we could find René Pawlowitz on completely different hardcore/jungle project Hoover1, jumping out from nowhere with 4 intensive EPs and ethereal acidic electronique avant-garde EP thrown as Distance Dancer, all in 2020.

Shed - Box [TEC112]

On this nice 12" wax we will find three avant-garde tracks full of inspirations from different styles, years and moods. While opening Try is a slow-rolled techno soaked in somehow Burial's dubstep vision full of eerie vocals and misty soundscapes, second track Box is taking us on more techy ride through futuristic highways full of high BPMs. Closing Sweep is just a complete game-changer, something really unique. Didn't expect such a banger. Definitely avant-garde techno at its best, reminding me the most finest sic anthems from I-F brutally rewritten by Autechre's techno twin-brother.

Shed - Try [TEC112]

Please consider this EP as a good starter of this weekend, recommended to enjoy it together with your friends. Feel free to drop a comment with your opinions about this 12" and your favorite track.
