best songs from the classic thanksgiving movie: planes, trains, and automobiles

in Music3 years ago

this all time classic 80s comedy film contains some memorable songs, and i shall give you my favorites.

i really recommend this movie, i honestly think its about as funny as they get, and it holds up after all these years re-watching it.

happy thanksgiving and all that good stuff

Silicon Teens
"red river rock"

this is a classic instrumental country song(red river valley) that was re-made in the 50s as kind of a garage-rock instrumental and this is an 80s version in that style of the remake (sounds complicated, sorry). this one has a really cool 80s synth mandolin sound.

E.T.A. Featuring Steve Martin & John Candy
"i can take anything(love theme from planes, trains and automobiles)"
1987

great 80s uptempo "blood pumping" mostly instrumental track, with samples of dialog from the movie and essential 80s sax. "i can take anything...because ive been with del griffith"

Ray Charles
"the mess around"
1953

great song from the 50s by ray charles, i included the scene(no spoilers) they used it (in its entirity) with another classic performance from john candy.

Patsy Cline
"back in baby's arms"
1963

classic country number, from probably the undeniable funniest scene in the film...."between two pillows"

Book Of Love Modigliani (Lost In Your Eyes)

wow, i instantly recognized the music from one of the very emotional scenes in the film, but never realized it was a synth pop song.

thanks for checking out the post, comment with your favorite quotes or scenes or check out the movie if you never have seen it!
