The good old Danube has been a part of the landscape in this area for as long as I can remember. I can't say exactly how long, but it's likely been shaping the landscape here for over 2000 years.
Being one of the longest rivers in Europe, if not the longest, it holds a special place in my heart. I was actually born in a small town located on the banks of the Danube, so you could say I have a deep love for this area.
Here, we are neighbors with the Serbs, and even though the Danube is the same river for both of us, the view and the experience are completely different. It's like stepping into a whole new world on their side.
Today, I went to a nearby city for dinner with a few friends, but instead of heading straight to our favorite restaurant, we decided to take a little detour. We turned right after crossing the border and drove in the opposite direction for a while.
We didn't wander for too long though. At one point, we stopped for a few minutes to take some photos from a spot with a high altitude. From there, we had a splendid view of the Danube flowing between the rocky banks on both sides.
I imagine the sunsets are absolutely spectacular from that vantage point, but unfortunately, we didn't stay long enough to witness one. However, the food was delicious, and the experience of venturing out of town was quite refreshing.
Now, it's time for me to hit the bed. I wish you all a fantastic weekend ahead, and I'll see you all tomorrow.
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian

I had to Google the one with the rather large statue. It's really good to see that Decebalus is still remembered. I wonder if that really was his name, it seems like a Romanised version.
As a tangent, when I did some study on Roman auxilia units, it made me realise that the connection between England and Romania goes back a LOT further than I realised ! It turns out that around 75% of auxiliary units recruited in Britannia served in Dacia, Raetia and Pannonia. In turn, a lot of those recruited in Dacia and from Sarmatian tribes were stationed in Britannia. The shadow of the Roman Empire is long !
The people has a long history. There are a bunch of interesting documentaries about the history of the language and how all sorts of tribes migrated from here.

it is an interesting part of Danube, completely different from any of his other parts.
So is it on your side everything down by the river? Been there few times but always someone didn't have the passport with them.
Yes. The photos are taken from Serbia and what you see is Romania.
Awesome man! I was wondering how you see it from the other side. Thanks for the pics!
I like the view a lot and the vibe as well.
wow!!! Amazing view. I see no concrete, only nature
