Street photography at night

With days getting shorter and night coming down before 6pm, it becomes more accessible for me to shoot during night hours, which I love. Since I'm trying to move away from a night owl lifestyle into an early bird one, this shift helps a lot as I don't have to stay up late roaming the streets.

Here are some selected shots from couple of different days - one which included heavy rain and the other during a clear warm night. Wet streets reflect the neon lights even more and the scenes get more vibrant. Plus it's always fun watching people run and seek for shelter or be imaginative and use different objects to cover themselves. :)

As for the settings, I always use auto ISO (with a maximum set to 6400), and make sure it doesn't go too high by opening the aperture wide to F/2 and setting the shutter speed to 1/125. Normally, this is the only part of the triangle I'll touch on - changing it from 1/60 to 1/250 depending on the light source and whether the subjects are moving. Of course, auto focus is ideal during the night - it would be too much work to try and focus manually with the lens wide open.

Photos are taken with Fuji X-Pro2 and 35mm F/2 lens.

Nice streetphotography man. Love the shot of the woman on the bus.

Thanks, Ruben! That's my favorite as well.

I love the first photo with the woman wearing a zara-bag as a hat, it is great!! The colors, but also the combination of her dress and de guy in black, and the bag in relation to, I assume it is a shopping-street they walk through! I could see it straight in a fashion magazine:)

Yes that's the main pedestrian, shopping street. Protecting the head is most important haha, doesn't matter how it looks on the outside. :D

Wow this is really nice and thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing!

It's a pleasure

Beautiful shots!
