Hello there, photography lovers!
Today I would like to share a collection of pictures taken on Prasonisi Beach, one of the most interesting places on the Greek island of Rhodes. The open expanses of the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas, as well as the wind all year round, have made this beach a favorite destination for surfers. I am talking about kitesurfers and windsurfers, as the waves are not really big here. Interestingly, depending on the season, the width of the sand spit of the beach is different here, and it is completely hidden under water in winter. That is why this place is known among tourists as the Kiss of the Two Seas.
I have been to Rhodes several times over the years, and each time, I have stopped by Prasonisi to watch the surfers. Most likely, you have already noticed that the image quality of the first pictures leaves much to be desired. So it is! These pictures were taken on a smartphone on my last visit to Prasonisi. For attractiveness, I processed them in LR with a special filter called Turquoise & Red.
The following pictures were taken at the same time but with a Canon 650D camera. The processing was standard: crop, sharpness, saturation. As they say, feel the difference.
The pictures below are taken on my very first trip to Rhodes, in 2012. Then I used a Canon 450D camera. The processing of the images was minimal, as in the previous case.
Some of the pictures, I decided to make in black and white.
I have already published1 several2 similar3 pictures4 in my very, very old posts, but for this post I used my newly acquired photo processing skills and made all the images again. :) I hope you enjoyed the result.
In any case, Prasonisi Beach is a must-see place on the island of Rhodes. Summer is coming, many of you are already planning your vacation, and if you are going to visit Rhodes, then be sure to look at Prasonisi. After all, it is not necessary to have the skills of a surfer to feel how strong the wind blows between the two seas.
