Like I have said before, this winter has been pretty wild here in Utah. We have been obliterating all the previous snow records and it doesn't look like winter is ready to stop here either. Thursday we are supposed to get another snow storm and then a couple more storms next week.

Yesterday was a pretty crazy day. We didn't have any snow here in my area, but we had to drive up north to go to an appointment for my wife and what was normally a 45 minute drive, it took us nearly two hours. Once we passed the point of the mountain in Draper going north, it was almost like a blizzard as we were driving. The freeway was crazy and there were car accidents all over the place.

I would hate to work as Highway Patrol here because people drive like idiots, especially in the snow. One accident we passed had three cars there were pretty much destroyed and they had firetrucks blocking three lanes of traffic. When we got next to it, EMS had a stretcher next to the car and they were cutting someone out of it. It was a pretty nerve wracking morning and by the time we got home, I was pretty tired and ready for a nap. It is crazy how much driving can exhaust you when the roads are really bad.

One good thing about all these storms is that it clears out the sky and we have really blue skies. Normally the skies are grey and the air quality is so bad during the winter, but these storms have been getting rid of all the pollution in the air so that aspect has been really nice.

My wife's recovery has been going really well. We had her two week post op appointment earlier today and the doctor said that she is doing amazing. He also told her that she is cleared to take a bath now that her incisions have healed up and she can even start doing some yoga again. It will be so nice to get back to our nightly routine of yoga or mobility work. My wife's body is so sick of resting all the time and not moving, so I am sure it will be happy to be able to move again and stretch. We just need to make sure she is going slow still so that she doesn't injure herself right at the finish line of healing.

I am pretty excited about spring to finally get here. I have a lot of work that I am planning for my backyard. I did find out that I will need to add at least one more apple tree in the back so that they can pollinate each other. I had no idea that the tree I got was not self pollinating. Oh well, that just means more apples in the future. I am hoping to get some berry bushes to plant along the fence line in the back as well. It will be so cool to be able to grow our own food.

It's too bad there are snowstorms in these months. But it is worse that people drive so badly and accidents happen. You have to be slower and more careful when there is this much snow, otherwise these accidents are inevitable. I am very happy for your wife, I hope she recovers soon and you can resume your routine life.

I really don't mind the snow. We have needed it for years now. But ya, the other people driving in it is what I hate. Whenever there is a storm, I try to not leave the house unless truly necessary.

The whip is looking dope! I love those N-Lines and it's the same color as my car! I'm so glad that it barely snowed here this year and it's done being cold finally. Total opposite of being out in Utah. I am so excited about spring and summer.

Thanks man. I have really enjoyed this car so far. It gets really good gas mileage and has enough power for me. I don't need a real sports car or anything at my old age.

I was shocked to find out my new car gets pretty terrible gas mileage 😫

That sucks. I usually get around 35mpg on average, but if I am going on a longer road trip, it is 40+.

You will die when you hear how I’m lucky to get 15mpg around the city. It’s absurd and makes no sense because it’s only a V6. It’s not just me either, other MKZ owners report the same. Only major gripe I have with the car.

I would hate that.

Wow, those photos are amazing! It's crazy to see just how much snow you're getting in Utah this year. I can't imagine having to drive in those conditions, so I hope everyone stays safe on the roads. It's great to hear that your wife's recovery is going well and that she's cleared to start doing some yoga again. And your plans for your backyard sound exciting - growing your own food is such a rewarding experience.

Man i get cold of looking at it tbh :D. Just today i took out all the T-shirts and boxed the warmer clothing im ready for summer and you dipped in snow hehe

I still wear tshirts and shorts everyday. The sun is out today, so it doesn't seem as cold. My plants are going to enjoy the warmer weather though. This winter feels like it has lasted a few years now.

wen global warming turns into climate change lol

Meanwhile, autumn is heading my way. We don't have snow in southern Brazil though (only high up in the mountains, but it's rare and quite a big event). Thank God you wife is recovering! It will gwt even better once you guys get more sun and warmwr days up there.

Brazil is such a cool place. We had a neighbor that used to have a Brazilian student live with them during the school year and she would always tell us about all the festivals and stuff that she had there. Hopefully one day my wife and I are able to visit and see all the cool things that you get to see each day.

I hope you do! Give me a call and we'll met up anywhere -- i can help with portuguese.

I would love to experience snow, here in Philippines summer is coming and it's very hot 🔥

Really great photos.
