Memory Lane - A Photography Contest

Going through the smile discord group, I came across this photography contest by @enginewitty that involves us going back to our memory lane and that's quite a good one as many of us have been so engrossed in making money that we've forgotten the important things we usually do either as an individual or family.

I am not a photograph person or a photo freak, so I only take pictures when I am in a good mood or maybe when I have gotten something that makes me excited.

My friends know this and always drag me out to come and take pictures with them whenever they want to take pictures.

So, seat calm and walk with me as I take you down my memory lane. These pictures were taken with a friend's phone since it was during the period I was without a phone but fortunately for me, I was able to save them on my Facebook for days like this.

This picture was taken in the year 2014, November 1 precisely. I remember this day so well. As I had just loosed my hair while in my workplace and decided to carry my unrelated hair in an Afro style. I was so happy that my hair has grown this long and thick as well and my heart keeps making merry 🥳🥳💃💃 because of the look of admiration I was getting from people on my way home.

When I got home, I made no hesitation in looking for a good phone to take a picture of me that day and posting it.

This picture of me and my chubby friend was taken in the year 2019, December 31 precisely in the church where we all went to praise, pray, and worship God for sustaining our lives and that of our families till the end of the year.

It was not my idea to take any pictures that day but considering how happy I was to see the end of the point without panicking got me rilled up that I got no option but to take the shot with my troubled friend. Yeah, I was excited that year because whenever it got to the end of the month, I usually use to see myself depressed, moody, and in deep thought but that year was exceptional as I kept my smiling face after a long while of been happy at the end of the year.

This picture was taken last year few days to a friend of mine's birthday which happen to be in October. I wasn't feeling fine so I decided to stay indoor throughout the day and not go anywhere but unfortunately for me, there was no light, and I also needed to work from home.

Just as I was thinking of what to do, this friend of mine called asking me to come to meet her at the place she was taking her birthday photoshoot. I just could not say no as I knew there was a probability that in such a place there would be light to power up my laptop.

So I got up from my bed, just dressed casually, and left for the place. When I got there, she was still in the studio, so I decided to go inside the place and charge my laptop to work while I waited for her. After she was done, she asked me to go try out a shoot since I do not have a good studio picture, and yeah, I agreed to it, and finally, we came up with this picture.

This picture is one of the unexpected pictures that was taken that I ended up loving it. The smiles and simplicity caught me that I just could not imagine how a picture like that could be so beautiful.

I came out of the church will the hoe to call on my friends who were outside while the church was still ongoing only for her to hold me up and ask me to take a shot with her unless she won't let me go.

While I was trying to get away with my sachet of water still in my hand, the photographer took this shot. When I saw this picture, I just kept smiling at how we were all laughing at something we did and not caring about the photographer.

This reminds me of that happy moment we shared and how we always we're together in times of happiness, tears, sadness, and laughter. Those memories are stored in our hearts forever.

This was taken the year 2018 August precisely after our Sunday service while we were preparing to head out for a youth rally, we decided to take a shot. My friend with the blue rope on her neck just got her new phone so we decided to launch the phone by taking a selfie of ourselves. We edited the picture and added some effect to it as you all can see.
