Night view on a Sublime and Beautiful Sunday

Have you noticed how hard is to keep a good habit, like posting every day, and how easy and usually pleasant, is to adapt a bad habit, like not posting, or even replying to your messages for more than a week?

I have, and yet here I am 9 days since my last post and with a ton of excuses that don't really matter. I'll just say for the record that I wasn't lazy, on the contrary. Last week has been very busy, very productive and totally full of work and pleasant activities!

I was missing though a few more hours per day to be around here. But I didn't have that time and since I am not the kind of guy to whip a post up in a few minutes, a have found myself taking the longest break from my blog in months!

Taking pictures was the other thing that I didn't have time to do last week but my archive is always here to bail me out when I don't have something new to share. Today I have for you a few night pictures from my walks at the town of Chania, at the west side of the island of Crete in Greece.

The undeniable highlight of the town is the old Venetian port but there are more to explore, much more! From the busy plazas to the lonesome narrow streets and back to the medieval buildings and the buzzing roads it is a wonderful place for photo walks or just wandering around!

A full moon is always a big plus for night photography, giving to the sky a nice deep blue color even hours after the sunset!

This is my contribution to the #SublimeSunday, instigated by @c0ff33a , as well as the #beautifulsunday, hosted by @ace108!

Have a lovely Sunday!

I missed you!
Your post is much to my liking and I really enjoyed it... I love night photos, I love deserted streets, I love old buildings. I found it all here.
I think it's good to have a break like this even if it's more difficult to come back afterward. I have a hard time restarting in such situations.

Thank you @bluemoon, I am glad you liked the post :)
You are right, restarting can be really hard, let's see how it goes. For sure the Easter vacations that are coming, are not going to help me!

With pleasure! I love all your posts.
Surely for many of us, it will be hard after Easter.

Hey, heard something about earthquakes there last week but...perhaps they are as natural for Crete as sunsets and stuff...

Take care ;)

!BEER

Haha yes, they are quite common indeed :)

We did have some strong ones a few months ago, that destroyed a lot of houses, but not this recent one.

Thank you for your concern!

Has architecture there adapted in some way?

I am not sure about that. The old stone-built houses have very thick walls but I guess that it is the same to other areas too.

Hey @fotostef, here is a little bit of BEER from @manoldonchev for you. Enjoy it!
