The “Car of Tomorrow”

Do you remember the Tucker 48?

It was conceived and created by Preston Thomas Tucker in 1948 as, what he was hopping to be , the car of tomorrow. It turned out that his enemies were more powerful than his friends and the whole project ended rather badly. Only 51 cars were ever built, his company declared bankruptcy and his dream remained unfinished. He did manage though to create a myth around his name. There are huge fans of his work all over the world, a motion picture directed by Francis Ford Coppola and each one of the 47 cars that still survive, is worthing a small fortune!

Myself I am a proud owner of a toy replica, 18 times smaller than the original but still pretty beautiful! It was a present from a very old friend, a couple of years ago and it immediately became my favourite toy (OK it is my only one :)) and a favourite photography subject!

I did this shooting today, as a response to the Photo Quest for this week: Automobile Photography by the @qurator. But if you are interested in seeing how creative (or not) I can be with the same subject you can see the previous posts that I have written, following the links below.

Happy new month / January 2020

I can't deny that the real thing is always better but taking pictures of a toy car, compared to a real one, gives you a huge advantage, the size :)
It is so easy to move it around until you find the light and the background that works for your taste, you can rotate it in the split of a second and take shots from above without leaving the ground. You got my point, everything is easy :)

I wouldn't mind though taking one of those beauties for a spin but I am afraid this has to remain in the fantasy level :)
For now I'll just go and play with my toy :)

You did a great shoot with the toy car! Although it's easier, it's hard to make it "alive" like you did. Good luck in the contest!

Thanks a lot 😊🙏🙏

Lovely set of photos! The cinematic edit makes the car colour pop. Thanks for the short history. It adds context, and helps explain why the car has a third 'horn' 😅.

Thank you very much for stopping by @kingdariusthe3rd :)

Whoa a great photoshoot for this toy model. You also gave us a bit of history as a bonus.
