Light Painting Session with Queen DIDI. Amazing lawyer-by-day model for the night. Thank you for this relaxed session. This pose was certainly not a huge sports effort.

What were the settings for the featured image?
What you see here is a Camera Rotation Light Painting with a single 56 loooooong exposure time. The camera was always set to ISO 100 and the Laowa Zero D 12mm F2.8 lens was set to F22. Otherwise the background would not stay so black.
Was Ihr hier als Light Painting seht is eine Kamera-Rotation Einzel-Aufnahme mit 56 Sekunden Belichtungszeit. Die Kamera war auf ISO 100 und das Laowa Zero D 12mm F2.8 Linse war auf F22. Sonst würde der Hintergrund nicht so schwarz bleiben.
Step 1
At first, Didi was getting comfortable on the table and we covered her with a very translucent piece of silk. The idea entails a few little twists. First was the light placed in front and back of Didi to get the silhouette properly showing.
But there is a tiny trick once moving to step 2.
Also very important was to find the right setting so only the model will get enough light. So let's have a few testing rounds. .... In the end I needed to crank up the aperture to F22 if the background is not supposed to show up.
To place the light I used the common scanner I always use, walking behind her lighting in the direction of the camera. You may have seen it a few times.

Zuerst machte es sich Didi auf dem Tisch bequem und wir bedeckten sie mit einem sehr durchscheinenden Stück Seide. Die Idee bringt ein paar kleine Feinheiten mit sich. Zuerst wurde das Licht vor und hinter Didi platziert, um die Silhouette richtig zur Geltung zu bringen. Aber da ist mehr im Schritt 2.
Damit nur das Modell wirklich Licht abbekommt musste ich erstmal verschiedene Einstellungen testen. .... Am Ende musste ich die Blende auf F22 zudrehen, wenn der Hintergrund nicht sichtbar sein sollte.
Mit einem einfachen Scanner bin ich hinter ihr entlang gegangen und in richtung Kamera geleuchtet.
I used the scanner on the left to shine some light over her body before adding the fiber optic brush for additional features.
Ich benutzte den Scanner ganz links, für ihren Körper, bevor ich die zusätzliche effecte mit der Fiber Brush hinzufügte.

Step 2
Once I had the settings figured out I was ready to repeat the process twice within one exposure and rotate the Camera in between.
But there was one more little thing/trick to make her shine properly through for the main image. To make her a bit more visible I removed the silk after the first round and lit her directly without the silk. This way we do get more of her skin to show.
Schritt 2
Sobald ich die Einstellungen gefunden hatte, war ich bereit, den Vorgang zweimal innerhalb einer Belichtung zu wiederholen und zwischendurch noch die Kamera zu drehen. Aber es gab noch eine Kleinigkeit, um sie für das Hauptbild richtig durchscheinen zu lassen, habe ich die Seide nach jeweils der ersten Runde entfernt und sie direkt ohne Seide eingeleuchtet. Auf diese Weise können wir mehr von ihrer Haut zeigen.
Camera Rotation is what?
As I have shared with you in many of my posts about Camera Rotation. Yes, it is just what the name suggests. The camera is being rotated during the exposure, sometimes in steps sometimes in a continuous motion while doing so I also light up the scene.

Wie in einigen meiner Posts beschrieben ist Kamera Rotations Fotografie genau was der Name schon meint. Die Kamera wird einfach während der Belichtung gedreht und dabei wird das Subjekt ausgeleuchtet.

Es gibt sicher immer noch einiges was man besser machen kann. Aber auch mir hat es Spaß gemacht und hier kann man auch den Prozess mit euch teilen und diskutieren. Nächstes Mal gibts noch ein paar Ideen wie man diese Idee ausbauen kann.
