"Just outside the forest, the landscape opened with the same mystery of the most awaited ring box; Mt. Fitz Roy presented as impressive as a diamond of fantasy and desire. The golden hour mixed grades of a light blue sky with gentle pink shades. The clouds, which were faded horizontally, looked like pretentious brushstrokes over canvas. The sun glistered the face of Mount Fitz Roy, illuminating the granite up to the very tip."Tales of a Patagonian Journey.

Mount Fitz Roy has got to be among the most precious places I've had the chance to visit. Located in El Chaltén, Argentina, this Patagonian peak is named after Captain Fitz Roy of the world-famous HMS Beagle. The mountain, however, was first named Chaltén, which, in Tehuelche, means "smoking mountain" -- the constant clouds over the peak led the natives to believe the peak was a volcano, hence the name.

I opted for black and white to try something different, though there's nothing much to do to jpeg images. At the time I only had a point the shoot camera and gave the best to capture that moment. I might have more photos of the different facets of Mount Fitz Roy than I have of myself. I hope you enjoy.

Gigantic pictures!

The tallest one (Fitz Roy) is 3400m high 😬

I would understand if you have more photos of this than your face cos I would.

Wow.

What a beautiful view.
This is a place worth visiting.

It's totally worth a visit! The whole Patagonia is awesome, but there's so much to see around El Chaltén... endless trails and forests to camp.

That super sexy. Thank you!

Great images! It's about the photographer's skills and eye instead of the camera. Okay, they're shot with a point and shoot camera, so I guess the quality won't be good enough to make a billboard. But the way you capture says more about having the skills!

Lovely comment! I must say the scenery is 90% of the photo. This place is just... mmmmmmhh no words. It is the hardest feeling to transcribe into words when I wrote the book.
