Market Friday Haskell gardens

Market Friday

A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Hive, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
This is the one tag and challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.

For this weeks post, I am sharing a few shots of a visit to the Allen C Haskell Gardens here in New Bedford
A little bit about the gardens
The late Allen C. Haskell, a lifelong New Bedford resident and famed horticulturist, assembled these six acres—the site of a traditional New England-style common, beautiful historic gardens, and one of the oldest homes in the city—over more than 30 years. Today, it’s a public park and unlikely botanical respite, blooming in the heart of New Bedford.

Now you may be wondering if it is a public gardens how is this a Market Friday post, well in spring they do sell flowers, and its open to buy them at the moment, so it is indeed a market and a very beautiful one especially at this time of the year.

Let me start with perhaps the coolest or if not one of the most colorful parts of this place the multicolor greenhouse

For this shot i used my 11mm Lens which is super wide angle or fisheye and needed to be able to get this hole scene

And this is the Entrance I took walking into the gardens, you can see they have a couple of Magnolia trees looking so pretty at this time of year, I did take more shots of them but will get to those in another post ;)

from the Entrance I walked in you quickly get to walk past the Row of greenhouses, this is the opposite end of them as compared to the first photo I shared

and another shot of them from the other end the multicolor one grabbing our attention and so beautiful I had to share a couple of shots of it

And looking into one of the greenhouses, this one empty at the moment

but this one had plenty of plants in it, i did boost the greens a touch, well maybe a touch to much in this image

and the empty green house again I was kind of focused on looking at the details of the gears and chains for opening the windows of the greenhouse

And of course since the market side of this post is that they sell flowers and as she @dswigle likes to say always a flower, I did take plenty of shots of the magnolias and flowers and will share them in a post sometime, but i had to add at least one flower shot to this post ;)

That greenhouse with the stained glass is pretty epic!

Ohh yeah I do love that, I feel it has a 60s or 70s feel to it

ah, brilliant as always.

everything You've said about dswigle is through. also, the green house is so colorful.

I think I might need a wide angle lens 😌

Thanks so much,
@dswigle and I have bene friends for many years on quite a few platforms she really is a shining light for so many

I dont use the wide angle lens to often but sometime sit is so handy

I love the multi-color green house. That is awesome and very whimsical. The name of this place immediately made me think of Eddie Haskell from "Leave it to Beaver" I think it was. The photos are beautiful. It looks like a really awesome place to do some shopping. I need to hit the greenhouse soon if I am going to get a garden planted this summer.

I do love that greenhouse, and these gardens its a real nice spot to take a stroll especially in Spring

I don't think I ever watched leave it to Beaver

I only saw reruns when I was younger. I had my wife take some photos of the sunrise this morning. It was quite colorful again. The hues didn't turn out right, so I think I am going to need to start messing around with the white balance on my phone.

i didnt head out for the aunrise today i went out latet tetong to get some shots of birds in general and the Osprey in particular without a lot if sucess lol

Such a beautiful greenhouse with all those different coloured panes of glass.
To bad not all had plants in them to wander around.
Thanks for sharing @tattoodjay
Looking forward to the flower post 😉

Thanks for your visit I do love that colorful greenhouse
I couldn't even go in the greenhouses that had plants in they have signs staff only

You are welcome @tattoodjay 😊
That’s a shame…

Have a wonderful day today 👋🏻☀️

Amazing. Thanks for sharing 🤩

Have a great day

Love the urban "botanical respite". Especially the colored glass green house. It has a real 1970's, Brady Bunch vibe lol

Thanks for your visit and I totally agree I really 70s feel to the greenhouse

The first greenhouse is very pretty.
It looks like they have abandoned the other one...
