Mono Monday in Hazelwood Park

Mono Monday in Hazelwood Park

Good Morning everyone, another weekend has raced on by and the week begins and as is my habit I am sharing Mono shots for this post.

In my Wednesday Walk post last week I mentioned I had taken a nice long walk for almost an hour and a half in Hazelwood park and took a mix of shots that I will share in a couple of post, but I also got a few shots that I thought would work well in Mono.

Starting with this shot of this old Building in the park, it is Howland House, and was built in 1890

Someone had carved a heart in this tree I am guessing a fair while back as it seemed quite aged, and whoever did it didn't seem to have time to finish off the carving.

Now I have never seen the point of carving into a tree and even though I know that it most cases it doesn't actually damage the tree, but I am still not a fan of them.

As I mentioned in my Wednesday post, I didn't used to go out for many walks during the day mainly focusing on early morning walks, but for a couple of reasons I may be doing more daytime walks, and the cool thing about that is in daylight I can focus more on cool details I may see while I am walking, such as this feather laying on the ground.

This is a door on the side of the Howland house, clearly a woman's bathroom, but it didn't look like it had bene opened in quite a while

And another shot of some detail of the bark and some nails in a tree

OOps this last one is of course not mono, but fits in with the style of the other shot sin the post.

Hahaha....this is really a nice post.

Seems Pictures in black and white are prettier than those in coloured 😃.

Seeing a picture of Howland House built in 1890 still looking gorgeous makes me ask that question.

Great post

Thanks for your visit, yes for some subjects Mono or B&W can be more interesting than color

I thought as much

Have a great day

Nice shots! Thanks for including more photos of that house. It looks like a really cool old building. I hope you have a great week!

Thanks the week is starting nicely temp slowly warming up so maybe spring will make an appearance soon

I hope so, that would be pretty awesome. We have had some nice sunny days, but the temps have been quite cold.

Ah those days of carving names of the dear ones in the trees..... It feels wild to leave the carving for her to notice with a smile. It's so romantic. But those days are almost gone now, teenagers prefer love signs tapped via social media. Do you think love relationships of our younger generation is as deep as that wood carving?

I think I will avoid answering onthe grounds it may make me sound old and grumpy LOL

Strategically pointing me as the grumpy one, eh? LOL!

LOL no trust me I am equally or maybe even more grumpy :)

We all will be grumpy one day if we are entitled to breathe till that time. Untill then, stay safe, keep breathing 🤘

Yay! 🤗
