The only thing that puts me off the sling is that it doesn’t have a slot for a water bottle which I need I always have a bottle of water with me on walks
Other that that the 6L would probably be good for me fir a walk about bag

That's right but when I'm walking I usually take my backpack with me. That reminds me I've got to prepare it for tomorrow. I want to drive to a reservoir where I haven't been in a while. It's up on a mountain and hopefully nice icy :)
I have had the 6L Sling before the 10L, but it was much too small for me. I could fit my camera with one lens in it, but not much more.

You have to try it yourself I think. I always try to have a second lens with me, but that wasn't possible with the 6L version.
I didn't go for a walk at this reservoir because there was almost no snow, no fog and no ice, I just didn't like it. On my way back home the valley was covered by fog and this castle was a little bit higher 😁

And as for the sling, I like to have at least one other lens with me sometimes two, so perhaps the 10L should be the one I am considering, no shops near here have them in stock so I cant really get a look and feel at them
but for now my old bag is working well for me

You should definitely have a look to see the size of the bags and test if your camera and lenses fit.
