Flowers from Sirao Flower Garden

Hello Hive!

I've had some sets of photos of plants and flowers shared before here in Photography Lovers community and I guess it's time to add another set. For some reason, there are times when I'm so out of the loop in terms of writing that I won't write for days, but a few photos of flowers would really bring my inspiration back.

I should have posted about Garden Village of Moalboal as part of my ongoing Definitely Cebu series, but it will be for another day. For now, I'll just get back into my natural flow and share with you some photos of flowers. In case you're interested, I'll have the links of those flower posts below:

~~~Fragile and Fleeting~~~
December 07, 2020
Like in that Fragile and Fleeting post, it's almost a week already without posting anything. Again, it's not that I don't have anything post, it's just that I'm in a mental mess right now. I don't know. Maybe I'm always in a mental mess, some days are just messier than others.
It would be unfair to call this a filler post because I realized I shouldn't have a filler post. In my strict standards for myself, I should not post anything less. Now it feels like I'm really in a mental mess. Anyway, just don't mind my words as they probably won't make sense. Just enjoy the photos as they are.
Last December 20, 2020, I was invited to tour some famous tourist spots in Busay and Balamban. Our first stop was Sirao Garden - Little Amsterdam. Filipinos, being a fan of monikers and silly names, they called it The Little Amsterdam of Cebu. It's cute at first glance, but the more you think about it, it's just silly. Why can't just they call it as Sirao Garden? I get that it's for attracting tourists which is related to name recall and association, but I think it reeks of Filipinos' constant struggle for validation. At some point, I think it should stop. Anyway, I told you just be here for the flowers, not for my rants.
In recent years, Sirao Garden became the famous tourist spot of Cebu. If you're from the other parts of the Philippines or a foreigner, the moment you enter Cebu, I bet tours and excursions offered travel agencies include this place. That's no doubt. It's located in Sirao, a mountain barangay in Cebu where the primary local livelihood is planting flowers.
As the story goes, it was around 2015-2016 when a flower garden in Sirao became viral on social media and the frenzy to have that instagrammable photo led to an uncontrollable horde of tourists destroying the flowers. Now, they charge Php 100.00 as entrance fee to the garden. Take note that there are two flower gardens in the area. The other is Sirao Pictorial Garden and Camping Site. It's a tourist trap. I'll have more details about this in a separate post.
Again, you are here for the flowers. Here you go:
I guess that's all for this post. I hope that the next post will be the continuation of my Moalboal series. I also hope I can continue with the this writing momentum. If not, see you around sometime next week. 😂
Hey, that is too many flowers!
I am alergic to pollen, so I will have to mute you in the community to hide all these blooming flowers...
You're allergic to pollen and yet you're here in what we call as "Hive"? What type of sorcery is this? 😂
Guaranteed reduction of stress levels here. It's so colorful! Yes, I remember that time when this place became viral on IG and FB. It's sad how the effect of that destroyed some of the flowers but I had no idea there were two of them.
The story goes that when one flower field got the attention and went viral, the adjacent field also started to develop as a competition. As Filipinos, this is not strange. Haha
Haha yes, this is the norm. Oh thank you for the gift 😁
Wow so beautiful flowers 🤩🤩👌👌
It's a very beautiful garden with lots of flowers, the photos were great!
It's beautiful garden, but a little bit expensive compared to the new ones. I will share one in the future.
Excellent, I'm sure they are all a spectacle
I'm with you that sometimes we need to have time to rest our minds.. for me your post have lots of information and i like the way you took and described this photos .. i think it's better than you share posts everyday with one or two kind of flowers, then we will not see beauty like this
i think it's better than you share posts everyday with one or two kind of flowers, then we will not see beauty like this
Not for me. I made a name by having a long-form content. I would lump everything in one post than post one or two photos daily.
Oooh .. i got your point .. thank you .. you taught me something new
That first photo is straight 🔥🔥🔥
Loving all of these. Such beautiful moments in nature captured in these photographs.
Reminds me of [my trip to](Longwood Gardens](https://peakd.com/hive-148441/@daltono/exploring-longwood-gardens-in-pennsylvania-full-recap).
Thank you! I might share more photos; not flowers this time. I checked your Longwood Gardens posts and you have some nice collection of photos there. Okay. I'm inspired to post more about this. 😄
Tourist trap?
I knew about influencer snapping instragrammable photos of nature hyping up expectations only to have people see the real deal in bad light when they are greeted by nature without her filters as marketed.
The flowers look ok but I got the impression the garden looks small which explains the limited collection of flowers?
It's not really that bad, but considering the entrance fee, it's much more expensive compared to the other competitors. For me, I would rather go to Buwakan ni Alejandra had I known about it. It's not that small, but not too big either. Their collection of flowers is minimal compared to their manmade structures, which for me is a bummer. Buwakan ni Alejandra is much better in terms of flower collection and landscaping.
Gah! Your post is just as beautiful as the flowers. So beautifully formatted! I am loving it!
But yeah, the flowers look pretty! Now only if I knew what these flowers are called -_-
That's also my problem. I don't know the names of those flowers. 😂
Why exactly are you in a mental mess? I guess it will take you a week as well to attend to your comments😂
Anyway, do come out of your mental issues soon.
I was even shocked when I opened your post and saw the minute read lol, I have to check again if I was deceived by my eyes.
I am sure you know why I said that hahaha.
These are lovely collections by the way. And its really been some days since I read from you.
I'm always like this. Always in a mental mess. Some days, I'm just good at suppressing it. Some days, I'm just wondering somewhere.
It won't go away soon. I'm just dealing with it as is.
Hmmm, well, I wouldn't say but I really think it can go away just that you have already recorded your mental mess in your subconscious mind and you make it become your thing that is why you have accepted it that way.
If it is not stopping you from doing your daily activities then I guess we just have to leave you to it.
What I mean by mental mess is that I can't focus on one task. I just hop from one activity to another without really accomplishing anything. And it frustrates me so much.
hahahahaha, now I understand, you made me think something else. Well, it happens cause I go through that sometimes lol
Nice Photography
So refreshing and must needed to see nature (even if just in pics) during this crazy period!
Yes! That's why I'm loving @pinmapple because it feels like I have travelled through the posts there.
You are also having a great time there, touring your own region.
Haven't traveled since the beginning of the year when my parents were here and I took advantage of their car, but yeah, I need travels more than air! And I love the way I get to virtually roam the world through the posts shared on @pinmapple :)
I really miss Sirao and I can't wait to be back in Cebu. I love your photos with HD and raw photos like this Kim. Is this DSLR?
Taken from my Fujifilm XT100. I enhanced the color ng very slight lang.
Nice sya if ma focus. I'm still learning how play the settings of the camera. Kanang adjust kadtong F4, F5 something like that and the ISO thing. Karon pa ko ga explore sa camera before default lng gyud. Super amazing jud diay if you know how to play the settings.
Dili man sad ko kahibaw magplay sa settings. I use manual though. Try2x lang gyud unsa muwork depende sa lighting and shot na ganahan ma-achieve. Always kong trial and error.
