What's going on tokers? Been 2 weeks since I have done an update on the lemon-ups. I can tell you this plant has been one of my best-trained plants so far.
As you can see the LST training has been working wonders. With just two weeks under daily adjustments to the ties, this plant has now been able to become a bush.
When I started the training of this plant and all the plants in my tent really I was planning to veg them for 2 months and then flip them but I have come to the time that I need to flip the tent and I feel I can get a decent yield off these.
I have been working on vegging some other plants already that will be getting the same training as this plant got.
When it comes to them being flipping into flower as it is now day 3, I am not a fan of training them more cause I like to keep them as less stressed as I can. The Idea now will be a bi-weekly defoil of the leaves.
Cannabis “defoliation” is the process of removing leaves from your cannabis plants. Some growers call this “lollipopping” when applied to the bottom of the plant. Many growers believe defoliation can be used as a tool to increase cannabis yields indoors, but there are also a lot of cannabis growers who say that plucking leaves off cannabis plants (defoliation) is not beneficial for your cannabis yields in any way

This is the idea behind defoil, I have done this with the last 3 grows I can found it will allow more light to reach the plant plus, to be honest, it makes trimming the plant so much easier come chop.
Now that the plants are into flower but I am also trying to build up the soil I have added a nice layer of EWC (Earth Worm Casting). The worm casting I like to use is from my own worm bins. Do you have worm bins? Composting with worm bins is a great way to get beneficial worm casting but also a great way we can reduce food waste going to the landfill. I use only fruits and veggies with the odd NATURAL cereal( Not something with chemicals). The plan now is to add more P-K(phosphorus (P) and potassium(K)) than N(nitrogen).
Along with the top dress, the cover crops are now slowly making their way above the EWC.
This is one of the most beneficial times for the teas to be added, The teas don't so much add nutrients to the soil as it does add microorganisms.
The compost tea I started with but will slowly be adding some other amendment to it was just a basic tea,
- 1 Cup EWC
- 1/4 Cup Kelp
- 1 TBSP molasses
The idea is to aerate this mix for 18-24 hours and allow this to build up a nice colony of bacteria.
Nice one, That a flower tea?
Yeah. The line of fertilizer requires me to bubble it over night.
