Alpaca everywhere! I was so surprised by the fact that they do eat alpaca in Peru. Mostly they serve tourists but some locals also love it and eat this type of meat occasionally in a fancier restaurant. In Cusco, especially, I can find alpaca on the menu almost everywhere among some other alpaca products like clothing.
In this food vlog, I'm bringing you to eat alpaca at Nuna Raymi, Cusco, Peru. The place was recommended by the owner of the hostel that we were staying at to go for some delicious alpaca. We got this weird looking appetizer made with some corn nuts and some other things topped with chocolate... Interesting, isn't it?
For the main dish, of course, alpaca. I got alpaca steak decorated beautifully with some house special sauce. When eating at a bit more fancy place like this, you can actually tell the difference between alpaca and other types of meat. It's sweet and almost melt in your mouth, literally. In this Peruvian food video, I also talked about why do we eat alpacas? where to eat alpacas? and wait.. actually, what does alpaca look like?
For the drink, my favorite Peruvian drink ever, Chicha Morada, a purple corn drink mixed with some other juices.
