Healthy Streak Ended

This winter, I did really good overall with not getting sick despite the frequency of sickness being in our house! Lol. Like all good things though, sadly, it had to come to an end! :D

I was happy but also surprised that this winter I was able to manage not getting sick for the worst parts of it! That is, up until a few days ago lol. I felt like a badass during the deep winter! My son got sick a few times and my wife was sick but I managed to hold it off the entire time and took care of them both to get them to feel better and I steered clear of it. What's confusing though is that I've taken the same steps when I was helping get them to feel better, but I fell ill this time around instead of them being the ones. I guess I was due for getting sick though!

One of the really annoying things my body does every now and then is when I'm feeling a little under the weather, I will end up getting insomnia and that cascades into a terrible effect of me guaranteed getting sick lol. That happened to me the other day! I only got about 90 minutes of sleep one night and that made for a miserable day at work but more importantly, I knew it was going to cascade into me getting sick. Sure enough, it did! I really think, looking back on the stuff that was going on over the past few months and me not getting sick, while this time getting sick, the lack of sleep is what did me in honestly!

We've done a great job in our house with getting our vitamin and herb game on point though, so although I did get sick and didn't feel great for a few days, I managed to keep it mostly at bay and didn't have to call out of work any of the days which was the most important for me. I know I could have called out but it was one of those situations where you would feel worse having called out, knowing the things that would be waiting for you there in a day or two, and it's just better to suck it up and get through it. It's quite the conundrum these days! Lol

With the herbs and vitamin front though, there are some key winners in that realm that really helped kick the crap out of the sickness that I had developed and I think, in my opinion, it's certainly colloidal silver and a quercetin combination vitamin that were the winners. Colloidal silver is one of the things that I've always read about being really good but didn't spend the time to figure out where I could get some and what I should do to use it until 2 years ago or so I think. Once I started using it though, damn was it good! I use it all the time now when I feel a little scratch in my throat or something and it does wonders to keep things at bay and allows my body to get to work to make sure it doesn't get worse. I wasn't as successful with it this time but it was still one of the things that I think helped the most.

Quercetin is a new one for us! It's apparently a compound that many plants have in them and it's quite the immune supporting nutrient. It's been around for a while but gained a lot of popularity in the past few years as it helped with people with the global sickness many were afraid of, and did a great job at that. We stocked up on some and have had great success with it in general so we figured let's use it when we are feeling a little under the weather, with pretty good success I think! The one thing I wish I could figure out is a cocktail formula of the stuff that helps someone go to sleep lol. I'm sure someone has come up with that formulation but I think it would be great to take it before bed, have the extra stuff to help get to sleep and knock out for the night while the magic goes to work inside your body and kicks the ass of the sickness so you wake up feeling like a million bucks!

I wonder if one of these years I'll be able to manage a streak of not getting a cold as long as I've got daily posting LOL

In the winter season, one gets a little sick, cold and flu, but the good thing is that your winter has passed very well and you did not get sick. Whenever such weather occurs, there is a cold wind blowing, and if one goes outside, one enjoys a lot. In such a weather a person must feel tired because he feels cold because of the cold so when he comes inside his blanket he feels very comfortable.

Yeah the cold weather is good in that sense! A nice warm blanket is a good thing for sure!

It’s not fun being sick but it happens and thankfully something we can get over!

I don’t wanna jinx it but I have some pretty well too! When someone in our house gets sick, which is often as 2 kids in school is like asking for the plague, I try not to change anything. I really should contract what floors my better half for a few days and sometimes do, but not so far this year.

Here’s hoping your herbs and remedies make short work of any inevitable ailments. Lean into the downtime and cherish the rest forces into our schedule. Gone are the times when you were expected to show up when you are under the weather so take advantage of extra days off with some soup and naps.

Actually that sounds good right about now!

Haha thanks yeah the sickness can be challenging! My wife’s recovering from some long time ailments (metal poisoning, apparently dentists around here don’t find it an issue having silver mercury fillings in your mouth until you tell them you want them out..) so I’m trying to not get sick as hard as I can but it ends up happening sometimes sadly.

The herbs did the job, the key factor in all of it was needing to get the proper amount of sleep! That has gone well mostly except this last evening where I woke up a little earlier than I wanted but overall getting back to normal. I probably smell really strongly like garlic lol

Definitely need the downtime though and recover time for sure!

Dude! Hope you're feeling better.

In a strange way, I almost enjoy getting ill. It's the only, only, only time - ever - that I get to kick back and relax and not feel guilty about it! 😂

Haha thanks dude! Feeling better now for sure! I’m not able to kick back at all, either at home or at work sadly so I don’t have that ability right now although I do miss it! Such is life though, we do things we have to do instead of want to do.

I’m feeling a lot better now thankfully! A key part of it all is the right amount of sleep! last night not so much but it’s getting better!
