Divine Is In The Crab Apple Blossom

'There is no God, anyway', my husband posits as he sips his coffee. We are talking about the protests against the death of Mahsa Amini this week at the hands, allegedly, of the Iranian morality police.

I'm incensed for a number of reasons, beginning with social media bandwagon jumpers who had 'no idea' that woman in Iran lived under such conditions. No idea? Where have you been, under a privileged rock? I get it, I do. We only turn our outrage to things shoved in our faces, or that are acceptable to be outraged about. Indigenous people weren't allowed to be outraged about the outpourings of love for the Queen though their oppression has been largely in her name. Sanctioned outrage is fine. There will be a puff of outrage and then it will evaporate as we move onto the next thing and people are still suffering in the name of God or monarchy or government or all three.

Perhaps I shouldn't have the second coffee. Even I'm guilty of keyboard warrioring because what else does one do in the face of such emotional bubbling?

'The world would be better without out religion', he offers.

'Without men,' I add. 'since it's men who rule the world in the name of religion'.

'Yes. Wait what?' he says, obviously cornered. But he agrees. We both agree that woman would worship differently. Which leads us to the 'no God' argument again. Or rather, disagreement. Sometimes I think he just likes to disagree. Often, his words sound like disagreement but are just different ways of saying exactly what I'm saying.

'God's in heart feelings of compassion and kindness', I throw back. He knows this. I don't even know why I'm rising to the bait. 'It's in tenderness and love. It's in caring for other people. How can people think that wearning an item of clothing can be a sign of obesience to God? And why woman over men?'. This second coffee is peaking.

IMG20220924081837.jpg

'Because it's about power, isn't it?'. Yes. I know. But there is divinity, I want to argue. I'm looking outside at the wattle tree glowing golden in the morning light and the birds hanging off the banksia like the pollen addicted acrobats they are. God is in nature. It's in the threads that connect all life, from tiniest soil bacteria to giraffes.

And Putin, who is raging his own power war and making threats about weopons. You can't believe in oneness as divinity without bringing him into the fold. But I think of Neville Shute's 'On the Beach', where Melbournians spend six months waiting for the nuclear fallout to drift down and end humanity with a whimper.

IMG20220924081815.jpg

I shouldn't have read the news.

Outside, it's better. The cold Spring sky is big and absorbs angst and frustration.

'Look,' I point. 'God is in the crab apple blossoms'.

And he agrees, whole heartedly.

With Love,

The world is complex and it isn't humanity's job to comprehend all. If it is a sin to stay away from the chaos, then consider me a grave sinner.

Or is it because I have grown tired of fighting for causes.

It's a different type of Goliath that we are fighting against and our protests no matter how loud will not shake it/them.

And most of the time, it is not us the common people who can resolve these socio-political issues, we can complain or cry, but those above will choose to be blind and deaf if the solution does not directly benefit them.

As always, we choose our battles, and and adding more disagreements will not solve an issue out of our reach, hahaha!

those above will choose to be blind and deaf if the solution does not directly benefit them.

Couldn't agree more.

Yet how reassuring it would be for the oppressed to hear the voices that stand with them. Ineffectual politically, perhaps, but emotionally valuable.

adding more disagreements will not solve an issue out of our reach,

Indeed. It's pointless to argue in tiny echo chambers. Hence turning instaed to the apple blossom. 🌸🌸🌸

Imagine if we all did that...

Totally agree, I was vocal for a certain issue several months ago, it's like venting carelessly. I stand on my decision, but I hoped I was wise before.

Nothing positive happened in relation to my outburst and demands, but surely I felt relieved and calm now, I can deal with it better professionally ;D

I don't know how to respond to this but I agree. Best to stay away from the news (even though I don't avoid it altogether). And nature is always a good choice.

I love how you used the pictures in this post. Makes one curious until the end.

xx

Curiously my brain goes down similar path once I see "news", take some time to walk outdoors cool off period, life slips back into shape and form yet those thoughts still lurk knowing all is not right....

Never has been, never will be!

@tipu curate

Lets just work hard and enjoy our life the fullest as possible. Your pictures are divine though, the flowers looks so beautiful

He's right , there ain't no god , at least not one that will give you any answers .
i know as i tried very hard the last few day's to speak with "god" .
It started on a micro dose ,.. and last night i was chewing away whole shroom's .

I never left this reality , like none of the gods had time to take me .
It gave me a freaking clear mind , all pain was gone , and i never had such good sleep for ages .
Did i stumble on to a miracle medicine ? ,.. a gift from the fungus god's .
And did i cheat , use doping , to created a mind blowing post on b ?
While my mind was wondering around in the realm of the god's ,
that seemed awkwardly empty to me ?

A world without men ?,.. damn girl be careful what you wish for .

Your little disagreement reminds me so much of conversations I had with my wife. I like the way your husband winds you up. He believes in God as much as you.

God is in nature. Get out there in it 🙂

I don't really do any traditional social media because it would make my head explode. I can barely get through the evening news lol

But there is divinity, I want to argue. I'm looking outside at the wattle tree glowing golden in the morning light and the birds hanging off the banksia like the pollen addicted acrobats they are. God is in nature. It's in the threads that connect all life, from tiniest soil bacteria to giraffes.

Yes, absolutely.

I find, in general, religious folks—that is to say, people who cram into these small, dark buildings to hang their heads and fight over who can take ancient writings the most literally and use them to oppress people (usually women)—to be among the least spiritual and the least likely to see what God really is.

the least spiritual and the least likely to see what God really is.

Yes, we totally agreed on that one! It's so daft. Yet somehow it's in the ordinary folk as well - the frantic, screaming, incensed soldier raising a gun and saying he will bring down London and Washington because God wants him to? And America fighting wars in the name of GOD?? Fuck me, excuse the French. I just can't wrap my head around it. I hate calling people stupid - I try to practice compassion - but that just tries my patience big time.

Yay! 🤗

I have to mute the new now and then, more now than then because I don't want to become bitter, disillusioned, and anti-government. I am not sure how we have screwed up our world so badly, buy I have to believe we can fix it.

Your thoughts are justified and most here would have to agree with you.

I just need to go back outside and enjoy God's beautiful world of Nature. Gosh, never change. I come over here when I want to hear the truth. 😉

Le sigh.

aW, THANKYOU! It's just simple for me - the divine is in nature, that's all we need to know. THe cool thing is that WE are nature too - exactly like a tree or a flower. So we're ESSENTIALLY good - we just have to all find the path back!

I'm on that trail!! :)

Things are really coming to a head now, as we see the world that humans created for all that it is and damn it, sometimes it is not pretty and it hurts like hell.
It's what we do that matters, how we respond, how we interact.
I am not a god person, I don't believe we need to look at one thing, but inside see everything as part of the whole, much like you xxxxx

I think we definitely see the same God, just God is the wrong name for it. That's what I like the divine, because it speaks to everyone's understandings of the sacred x

Thanks for speaking about Iran's situation. I believe that the discussions about God and Nature is endless but something is certain that humanity can save us! voice of suppressed women of Iran is being heard and it means so much to us!It's not about news. It's not about politics . We all are children of the earth. We are family! We should take each others hands and fight for the better future! What is happening in Iran is not bitter!people in Iran are being killed and tortured for demanding basic human rights ! but it's not bitter!because people aren't afraid anymore!people shouting in streets : don't be scared don't be scared , we are all together. Iran has so many beautiful flowers! Beauty speaks in the streets of Iran right now!😊🌺
#iran #mahsaamini

I'm glad you read this. We do care deeply for you and personally I am so upset for the woman of Iran under such an awful situation. Please feel my warm regards, even if they don't change things. Xx

Thank you so much!It changes things! We are all connected!💜

That crabapple is just stunning! And you got so many beautiful photos of it. Ahhhh, spring in September...

This is fucking brilliant.

The philosophy as much as the content.

Hear hear and well said. And you rose to the occasion the like the warrior of light you clearly are 👏🔥

I stay away from the news... mostly. I barely watch TV... before the Queen's funeral on BBC.co.uk, I think the last thing I had on the telly was New Year's Eve Fireworks 😂

I recently started watching a live stream on Sundays of a church service in the United States. I personally find them more liberating and real than the church services I have attended in the UK on occasion (the latter I have only attended for baptisms, weddings, and funerals). The American services seem to be imbibed with a lot more energy and have a more modern and relaxed feel to them. One of the things the pastor says each week is

Go, be the Church!

And this is in beautiful synchronicity with this, quoted from one of your comments:

Yet how reassuring it would be for the oppressed to hear the voices that stand with them. Ineffectual politically, perhaps, but emotionally valuable.

How important that we carry that central focus on God, Divinity, and love into the world and allow it to radiate outward from there. Yesterdays sermon was great. There was an emphasis on not allowing the world to happen to you and instead on allowing Christ to happen to the world.

And yes... the beauty of God is always to be found in His creation.
