Hello friends of HIVE!

This is my entry to the #MarketFriday of @dswigle

A few weeks ago, this market called VIDA was inaugurated and it is located in a town where before there was no market of this type, the hometown of my husband San Juan Bautista. The only supermarkets on the Island are located in the city of Porlamar, Pampatar and others, so Mercados Vida becomes the solution for many people when it comes to shopping and a great source of work for its inhabitants.

Since we can't go out with the girls, my husband and I went to meet him and take advantage of the opening offers. The first thing you notice upon arrival is its large parking area. Here we can find bakery, delicatessen, still life and others. It has relatively small hallways, it is not a big establishment inside. It has a small personal care area.

I do not think it is very comfortable when it passes the quarantine and is full, it is really small for the amount of products it offers. You can find everything and one thing that others do not offer is the weight to weigh and know the price of the vegetables, fruits and vegetables that you want to carry. Normally you know that at the checkout when you pay. A great plus point that I loved.

Of my favorite aisles, frozen products with a great variety and some personal hygiene items. I really enjoy these corridors because the truth is I am very curious and complicated with the prices. We made some quick purchases and I really liked it because the cashier service was special and I signed up to receive notifications of offers by mail. Another service that has no market around here.

Overall it was a good experience, hopefully it stays that clean and its service and offers spectacular.

I hope you liked my #marketfriday and remember ...

I didn't understand why you would be confused (complicated with the prices?) Is this not in your native tongue?

It is definitely a beautiful store, especially in light of the fact that the stores are few and far between in those parts. Are you living there or visiting? I am trying to see if this is something you have to get along with every week. :) Seems like you have been there for a while.

I love new stores as they really are clean. There is something about stores getting old and not smelling so nice as they age. I hope you were able to get everything that you needed! I love the picture of your husband and you! You make such an adorable couple! I appreciate the love and support you are giving to #MarketFriday! I feel like the more the merrier. We have such a great group here and I encourage you to scroll through a few here and enjoy them as they will enjoy yours. There are so many challenges here on Hive and it warms my heart to see that you chose to be a part of this one. It is people such as yourself that made it into such a successful challenge! It takes a lot of effort and thoughts to put together a post for the #MarketFriday challenge. I know this first-hand and so, again, it is appreciated. Thank you again for being a part of all this! I hope you have a lovely weekend!

@dswigle Well, if I found what I was looking for, and take advantage of some offers of things that I did not need but that at any time are missing. This place is about 10 minutes from my house, here everything is relatively close because it is not such a big island.
the issue with prices is perhaps difficult to understand. When you need tomatoes and you are going to buy them, you will see the price per kilos, that is, 1 kilo of tomatoes costs 300 bolivares. then you take 6 tomatoes but you won't know the weight of them until you get to the checkout to pay for them. It is there where they will give you the weight and the total price, it is like buying blind. On the other hand, in this market you can weigh your vegetables and fruits before paying for them and thus know exactly how much you are carrying and how much you are going to pay.

I hope you understand me because the truth is complicated. we must also add that our currency is so devalued that some reflect their prices in $. We pay in $ and they give us change in $. a crazy thing right? here people do not have money in bolivars, everything is marketed in $.

I understand exactly what you mean. Sometimes here, they give you prices in kilos, then when you are comparing, the price will be in ounces... You are not able to compare to see the better value! But, yours is much worse, for sure.

I would weigh mine before I got to the cashier. Those kinds of surprises are not always good!

There are many countries that use USD instead of their own. I find this crazy too.

Exactly @dswigle, it seems to me a not very pleasant surprise because I have even had to return and add fruits, sometimes I want a kilo of something and I arrive at the box with just 600 grams. and if the truth is crazy our prices in two currencies, some even only accept $ is even worse. hopefully a good surprise brings us this week #marketfriday

I agree! Have a wonderful day!
