Chiang Mai is known for their weekend market from night street food markets, walking streets, farmer markets, morning food markets, craft market and so on. Today, in this post, I'm sharing the one I personally love the vibes in general and literally can visit this place every weekend.. and also, it's halloween weekend these last few days so might as well!... Halloween Craft at Jingjai market, Chiang Mai!

JingJai Farmer's Market Chiang Mai

This market is everything you could imagine about good chill weekend vibes.. Local food, a good cup of coffee, handcrafts, live music. I also love the fact that there're always interesting events held here. This last weekend, it's halloween weekend so they have this cute small halloween magnet painting workshop which sounded interesting with a little fun for me so there we went.

But first.. coffee..

There are a few coffee shops around. A few small stalls to coffee truck to actual shops. I normally just go for those small stalls or the trucks so that I could still sipping the coffee while walking around checking out other stuff in the market.

This time I went with Street Coffee Crew, a small coffee stall in one of the corners. Then without any expectation, an old guy sitting behind the coffee shop just handed me a hand-drawn card. Totally a different looking kind of art and I totally loved it! By the way, that's me on the card. Looks exactly like me, I know! I brought him a hot coffee to show an appreciation.

Halloween magnet painting workshop

As mentioned, Jingjai market does a lot of events on a lot of occasions and Halloween is one of them. There are halloween theme handmade stuff with a few workshops like magnet painting and bag painting. Our own pieces of art sound good so there we went.. sitting right by a few kids and pretending we're not that old.

150THB for 2 magnets and 200 for 4. We sat there for literally an hour ++ enjoying the live music from a few meters away.. Sipping the same cup of coffee while enjoying the creativity and colors. I totally had a great time doing all this and thanks to Jingjai market that provides all the fun and joy.

If you're in Chiang Mai for whatever occasions, check the market out. I'm sure you will have much fun either it's on halloween or other special events or not. The vibe here is always great!

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service. It can be a movie, an auction, or even a museum. Wherever money is exchanged for a service or product. Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? Was it expensive? Did it go up or down? A scroll of pictures with few words doesn't usually work.
  3. Post the pictures. Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post, it is too difficult to guess about some.
  4. Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post (#hive-196308) This is not required but appreciated.
PLEASE Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it!!
  5. Following me and reblogging the post would be appreciated, but not a rule, more vision for more views on the #MarketFriday posts!
    7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post.

I so love those cute little halloween magnets. How I wish there was a pumpkin magnet too. But all of those are really very cute. Have a nice time my friend.
