Just few weeks ago, I bought half Kilo of pepper at a price equivalent to $1.7 and now, it's currently $3 and not negotiable.
If no one would pay that amount for it, then it could be negotiable. Supply and demand.

That's a nice logic, but it's not applicable here as there's much demand than supply.
