STEMng Digest: Week 14

in StemSocial4 years ago (edited)

It is a new edition of the STEMng Digest - the 14th edition to be precise. For those that have not been following, previous editions can be found on our blog.

What is STEMng Digest?

STEMng Digest is a weekly publication where we showcase the works of Nigerian content creators in the field of STEMs on the hive blockchain. We curate various articles, videos, etc. published by Nigerians and supported by the stemsocial community account. We are a sub-community of the stemsocial community, a community that has been supporting stem authors on the hive blockchain fro about four years now. Before going into the list of curated content for this last week, let us look at some statistics for the said period.

There has been a little improvement as far as the activities of Nigerian stem authors on the hive chain is concerned when compared to the immediate previous week. Seven articles from Nigerians were supported by stemsocial as opposed to five in the previous week. These articles were published by seven unique authors, an improvement on the previous week where only four authors published articles that meet the guidelines for stemsocial support.

Below is a list and a link to all the articles published by Nigerian authors that met the curation guidelines of the stemsocial community. Please go ahead and show them some supports.

Top pick for the week

Our top pick for this week is the article published by @hadji - Covid19 pandemic, Climate Change, and World's food supply
. The author discussed the possible combined effects of covid19 pandemic and climate change on the world's food security.

Climate change has been affecting food production before the pandemic and a good portion of the world's population were in hunger. The pandemic might worsen the situation if something is not done. As expected, the subject provoked a bit of discussion from the community.

To stand a chance of being supported by stemsocial and featured as a top author in our weekly digest, all you need to do is to observe the following advice:

Write original content
Make it interesting
Adopt beautiful layout/formatting
Personalize your writing
Use copyright-free images
Include references
