The title looks very funny and the part that says to overcome the fear of mathematics seems awkward to some people. The reality of most persons in Nigeria is the fear of mathematics. The fear of mathematics have made some persons ventured into studying courses in arts and humanities. Mathematicss is a compulsory subject in Nigeria if one wants to further from High school to the university. In order to avoid or kill this fear I've decided to engage my son on the fundamentals of mathematics, which starts with counting and identifying numbers. Greetings from @salvadornkpara.

This blog of yours makes me remember all my years in my elementary and high school days, my girl classmates always have this fear of mathematics, boys, not much. Keep it up and your son will perform great in math subjects. Have a nice day ahead.

I like your conscientious approach of not moving forward until he's confident in the first concepts. Mathematics is an area where if you miss some of the basics, you can't continue to build securely to understand later concepts, then it's small wonder that children will come to fear the subject. When teachers are schooling on mass, these things are easily missed, as they don't have the time to work with those who require a little more time.
