Going Down Hill Fast

COVID19.jpg

Things are on the turn here in in Ireland. All the laughing and joking is now turning into worry. We have got 225 beds that are equipped with ventilators. Our positive result graph is on par with Italy where there are 10,000 ICU beds needed. We are in big trouble and the surge is coming. The public have started to take social distancing seriously but there is still the odd idiot that is having a lock in with his mates in the pub. Cheltenham festival have seen a mass of people gathering in Britain which only started taking Covid-19 seriously from last week. The British started with a policy of herd immunity which you wouldn't even see dictatorships. They have since did a u-turn realising that herd immunity would not be the way to go sacrificing 250k people. Meanwhile both Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland have two different policies on how to approach this. Schools only closed up the North last week. Too little too late. It feels like a perfect storm. My wife is a microbiologists and she is seriously worried about what is about to hit. Doesn't help that she is 20 weeks pregnant.
800 people died in Italy today. London is in big trouble and half the population of the states is probably infected by now because testing cost money. We will know more in a few days when the death toll starts rocketing. New York is seeing this already so I expect every major city to have massive problems in the next few days.
A simulation was done in the states in 2001 of the affect of a pandemic. It was milder than this virus but lets just say it did not fair well. The glass is usually half full with me but this time it is the other way around. The world is going to change after this. So what normally is a funny post especially my first one on the Hive. It is quite the opposite. Great branding by Hive by the way. I look forward to posting on this platform. Best of luck to everyone and let's hope it doesn't turn out like Steem. Decentralised and not an Orwellian idea of decentralisation. I see some big Steemit names did not make it on the arc. One in particular stands out and an app of his I use frequently. Its strange this new decentralisation. It seems some accounts are more equal than others already!!

Sort:

They made it as clear as possible on the initial launch announcement post who was and who was not going to be in the initial air drop. People are ignoring that simple fact. If they wanted to be included they knew what actions they needed to take. Also people now talking about them being excluded are missing the words Initial airdrop. They also stated that there is a ways and means to request a review of their case.

People need to understand you can not go around yelling shoot them, shoot them, they are trying to kill me, then turn around and call the person that saved their life a murderer.

There are several people that I know, like and support who were not included in the airdrop, some of them are whining, some of them are not. Some are accepting responsibility for their choices their actions, some are not. I was not happy with the actions of the witnesses first freezing the accounts that went against everything the Steem Block Chain seemed to be about, I let my feelings be known on that point.

I watched and saw the actions, would things have been different with out that initial reaction, we will never know. The writing was on the wall and things were in motion and nothing was going to stop those two trains from hitting head on. When it came time to choose, to pick a side I chose. I stood with the witnesses, even though I did not like the actions they took nor some of the follow up actions they took.

It was an ideological war, centralization, or moderately decentralization. There was no middle ground, Hive has given us a middle ground, a point of becoming a decentralized platform in the real sense.

Hive is open for those that want to come, no one is being told they are unwelcome.

It seems some accounts are more equal than others already!!

Some people have more friends than others, some people have more money than others, it has no bearing at all on how decentralized a system is. Every one can grow and then they too will be seen as some accounts are more equal than others.

It all happened rather fast. If you weren't around for a few days you would have missed the whole thing. Granted blocking Justin Sun and a few more of his henchmen but for some of the prominent Steem names for taking a side. I dunno. I was totally against what the witnesses did and I was kinda looking forward to a new face around the place to maybe fulfil the potential. And when I say some people are more equal than others, I wasn't on about the stake, I meant people are frozen out, small group running the show, stake can be confiscated etc, just how it was really , just a different boss . This is not a decentralised system. Just don't want hive going down the same road and for another group to be forking next year.

It did happen to quick and we as a community need to push for changes to the witness selection process, so that it can not happen again here on the Hive chain.

Not good at all. Stay safe over in Ireland, we are too here in England. Best for you and your wife.

Don't panic.
20th march - just over 10,000 deaths worldwide. (in 3 months)

Every year , between 300,000 and 650,000 flu deaths. (in a 6 month window)
The age ranges are the the same.
Math is good.
This is a banker war psi op to cover the destruction of the current system, and nothing to do with any virus.
Unfortunately, the cost of this panic is martial law worldwide, and the sheep happily being led to the laughter house.

This wasn't funny at all? :op

Aye, its grim. Up here in SCotland we are practically in Lockdown. People are shitting it. I have a friend who is a doctor who says we are so not capable for a peak. Yikes
