Non-Florida man apologizes for looking inactive

Hey everyone,

With the current proposals out there #101 #102 #103 and #104 I understand that some people have been looking at the accounts that are targeted by these proposals to see which ones have tried to be an added value for the communities.

Though I haven't really posted much these last couple of weeks that doesn't mean I've been doing nothing. I've started a new concept (maybe it's still too early to call it a project) called @dagamers.

I've always been fascinated by gaming and I really love the gaming projects (communities, streaming platforms, games etc) on this blockchain. This blockchain offers a unique possibility to young gamers that might not have the funds to buy "in-game goodies" doing something they already love doing: creating content (think about the dozens of tweets they send, Youtube videos, and so on). However, it seems that the majority of the gamers - and maybe the majority of the people on Hive - is that their focus lays on creating content. Not necessarily interacting with it.

This is something that has always been a thorn in my eyes. Content should in my opinion always be open for interaction, and should aim at provoking interaction that outshines the main content itself (this is why for example I was a big supporter of changing the post rewards from 75/25 to 50/50 back in the days). I'm sure a big part of this is the psychological "pressure" of having to create content in order to get something in return. But I don't necessarily think it's a flaw of design as much as it is something that just requires a shift in mentality.

For @dagamers I want to create small projects that create gaming content but requires people to interact with it. You can consider it a gamified way of creating interaction.

For my first "project" I've made a @vimm live stream: https://www.vimm.tv/dagamers?ref=dagamers (yes that's a referral link) called "Vimm Plays". Much like Twitch plays it allows viewers to create gaming content by typing valid commands in the chatbox. Hence it's the viewers that create the content by interaction they get a share of the liquid rewards generated through the live stream.

I won't get too much in to details but I think you get a solid idea about the concept. And it's this type of group created content that I want to introduce for the gaming community and maybe inspire other communities or apps to do something in line of this.

Being a full time employee I do this is most of my free time. And ever since the pandemic started my free time has really diminished, updates that were planned for 6 months of now suddenly have to be ready asap. A project like this doesn't work without code that backs it up, and that code needs to be thought of, written, tested and monitored. Taking into account I also have a household (like all you do of course) there is not much time left, if any, to create new content or interact that much with others myself.

But don't for a moment think I went idle. I hope that with this concept I can add my little bit of value to Hive's blockchain doing something I'm good at :)
