Hive has continued its gradual shift towards greater equality over the last three months, since I last looked at distribution by MVEST and accounts per level.
Hive has got steadily more equal as measured by both metrics.
I use @argange's daily Hive Statistics to collect the data below...

The most significant shit seems to be in Orca accounts increasing, with one Whale account dropping off compared to three months ago.
There's a few additions to the Minnow pool but only 150, but better than stagnation or reduction I guess.
Very few new Redfish accounts have been created in the last month, with numbers holding steady at the 2.4 Million, but with those kind of numbers you have to see at least 50K being added before the trend shows up!

1.3% fewer MVESTs controlled by whale accounts, with all of the shift near enough moving down towards the Orca accounts, and a very slight increase of 0.1% across each of the three lower levels.
So a slow but discernible trend towards a greater equality of distribution of HP by MVEST bin.
Final thoughts...equality trends again...
It's nice to see a continuation of greater equality of Hive distribution across more accounts, but of course these trends might just be larger Hive holders redistributing across their own smaller accounts!
Unfortunately one can't tell whether this is the case just by interrogating the blockchain because we don't know with certainty what individuals control what accounts and some users are themselves completely anonymous.
But on the data alone, there is a trend towards more equal distribution, and that's been slow and steady for six months now!
I think that a lot of the orca accounts are building quickly. People that have been here for years and turn up every day.
A few whales can only do so much compared to hundreds of orcas and dolphins.
If those are larger Orcas then yes, but at our level, we're hardly even worth chasing up for Witness Votes compared to anyone with over 1M HP!
But it all helps for sure!
I have some friends who at least got to minnow recently. It's relatively cheap to buy your way there, but they just did well on rewards. You just have to get in with the right crowd to get that support.
The whale numbers vary little, but then we have one account with a $1m in HBD savings. That is a nice investment, but they cannot vote with it.
