A Glimpse Into A Possible Hive Future

Communities:
Join?
Create?

Ownership without losing connection.

VC funded premines are not web3s future. Web2 investors are in for a rude awakening with their "Costco internets" aka, semi-centralized projects made for the sole purpose of enriching seed round investors.

Community-run projects are what will survive. And what survives eventually thrives. Community-run projects are created naturally, to fill a need the community needs. Most of the VC funding goes to either buidling the product or marketing it. With a giant community, you have plenty of talented devs and tons of word of mouth. VC products are trying to jam a square in a round peg more times than not, trying to squeeze a dollar out of the free market.

So its only natural that projects built on grass root fundamentals will succeed long term. Communities simply never had the tools to organize in ways we do today. We are our own gatekeepers now.

Time flys, it's 2022. You just so happen to be a random web2 content creator that hears about Hive. You go to a front end that gives you two options, Join or create a community. If you click create it takes you down a path to easily creating your own token and setting up your ad system. With just a few clicks you have your own .com domain attached to your immutable open-source site and community.

As you start to bring your audience across, your built-in ad slots start to become desired. People start advertising, all happening automatically while you sleep. You wake up and you see the market cap of your token grow. Delightful. Seeing the positive feedback loop, you start making it a priority to convert all of your audience from web2 sites to your web3 site. Since your site cant be taken down, you can really invest deep into your account, growing without fear of being banned.

You start to create NFTs to give out to top hodlers of your token every month. There's always a fight at the end of the month between your most loyal supporters to get into the top spot for that NFT. Your token now has a nice sized market cap with a built in market maker and some decent liquidity.

You're no longer just a content creator, you're now a business, creating ref links and giving out tiny portions of your token to new signups to your community. You have a few full-time mods keeping the site on track and making sure ads are up to standard. Your Twitter account was just suspended, you laugh, thinking how powerful web2 once was, now a shell of its former self.

This is what we are looking for on #hive. Plug and play solutions that can bring in external money.

I don't see a massive need for individual tokens as that would get very messy but having a community with built in ad revenue proportional to it's activity and external reach would be huge for creators. Tokens for larger communities.

With the right analytics there could be simple ways to share ad revenue with your users but tokens could do the job as well. Lots of ways to improve going forward.

At the moment there is no incentive to share content externally as it has no effect without ads and the 7 day window disincentives creating lasting content. If there was a bot that payed out users based on the views/value that each post brought in to the front end continuously that would be a better reason to create content for the long term.

Groups like @leofinance are leading the way right now but being able to monatise communities will be the fastest and simplest way to push the hive price and push expansion organically.

I could start an Irish community. Grow it to 1000 members and share the best content to external Irish groups who would be interested. Bring in views/ad revenue. Get that paid to my community account and share it out to the users who created the posts through a token or payout bot.I can't build a website to do this myself as i don't have the skills but if it was as easy as signing up to hive and picking the right settings, who wouldn't want to make their own space on the internet without fear of the corporation clamping down at any stage if they didn't like what was being posted.
In time there could be a way to use a phone app like @dapplr and set it to show that communities posts exclusively which would give every community the chance to have their own app without building one. The freespeech Ireland app. Real opinions, no censorship.

I am new to Hive and realize it unlocks opportunities to safeguard our Individual Sovereignty.
I envisioned many catalyst tools for socio-engineering and prosperity, now I know where to deploy.
Here.
May the Hive Be at the Ready.

now you're gettin the idea...

I will indeed 😎
I am still evaluating Hive functionalities, apps and general platform maturity.
I am familiarizing myself with the platform and considering the best approach for my contribution.
I will sure need to connect with the dev community.
Can’t wait to kick the gear up!

Hi

It's simple. You use this as an intelligence need outpost. You tie ginaabots and other alert systems to this handle and post a few pertinent things a week to your cause.

Its your business who you bring to work here but expect to bring your own work crew or woke crew or whatever you call yourselves but working TOGETHER here is what foments ...

People give far more of their efforts away on twits for the spectacle of popularity. I challenge anyone to pick a cause and stick to it for sake of congruency.

Please elaborate on ginaabots and alerts on handles :) I am not familiar with it.

Breadcrumbs 🗿😎🥓🔑

Welcome to Hive!

These wonderful tools that content creators and influencers share with us so we can start building our economies.

As I read to another user: "Each influencer will build their own token with different functions and utilities" are great ideas of course I don't have that capacity but we all have to prepare.

We start by being creative by writing and learning about creative coins we will all be in the future that comes and if we don't learn we will be left behind.

People begin to deal with cryptocurrencies, they are more and more interested and learning. We will get to create our own money who knows.

Llegaremos a crear nuestro propio dinero quien sabe.

@theycallmedan

Provide tools for content creators and influencers to start building personal economies. A few years from now it will be a completely normal thing. Every influencer will build his own token with different functions and utilities.

I mean you can get really creative around tokenomics and that's the beauty of it.

People can literally create their own money haha.

Your Twitter account was just suspended, you laugh, thinking how powerful web2 once was, now a shell of its former self.

This made my day, lol. Funny but 100 % true, indeed

Your Twitter account was just suspended, you laugh, thinking how powerful web2 once was, now a shell of its former self.

Does this ever happen? 😁😁

With just a few clicks you have your own .com domain attached to your immutable open-source site and community.

It would be better to have a .eth or, perhaps, a .hive site that cannot be hit by the governments around the world. True decentralization.

agreed, .whatever you want

Or I wonder whether the new decentralised unstoppable .crypto or .zil domains could be used with hive?

Technically yes but because those domains aren't recognised by search engines and browsers don't all support it you;re going to have a tough time using it. I have one and its clunky as shit the thing at the moment is just domain squatting so people are buying up domains hoping they can resell them later

We'll have to wait and see if they ever do get browser support natively, it would be awesome though

Why not both?

Yes it happens

Honestly having individual creators create and manage their own tokens would be a hellish concept in practice.

Think of the endless accusations of price manipulation or scamming that would accompany it. Not to mention all of the people that would flock to your token with varying and conflicting interests which you'd probably have to regulate, as it is your community. I mean, depending on the token: how does a content creator herd a bunch of yield farmers, speculators and legit investors all at once while maintaining a good product? How will they not get bogged down in the myriad of squabbles and infights that will break out as a result of dozens of conflicting interests?

How do they promote the token and get it on exchanges while doing the above?

How will they prevent their token from being hijacked by pump and dumpers? etc etc.

Imo, markets and tokenomics are incredibly complex things. Lumping that on the shoulder of a guy who wants to make PUBG let's plays, or a girl who wants to make beauty tutorial videos...

I come from the angle that every content creator will have their own token. Tokens dont have to be complex, you dont need to have yield farming or anything of the sort. Tokens are the new patron, in time creators will see they can earn a lot more via their own token they opening a patron. Example, giving a creator 10$ is nice, but buying 10$ worth of their token is much better for the creator, as it establishes a market cap. Ive been called crazy before saying tokens will be in everything/one life and business, we shall see.

giving a creator 10$ is nice, but buying 10$ worth of their token is much better for the creator, as it establishes a market cap.

You hit the nail on the head there.
Until someone buys in, the token has no value.

There also needs to exist ability for that token to have value outside of that creator system. The establishment of an intuitive way to determine the value of each and every token created. Otherwise crypto is forever speculative, driven by hype.

That's why Blockchain/crypto is stagnant. There isn't a robust and unbreakable framework with a solid on/offramp into the real world.

That's why Blockchain/crypto is stagnant. There isn't a robust and unbreakable framework with a solid on/offramp into the real world.

Real crypto (i.e. not the scams) is robust and unbreakable - the key word there is "real". It's also what I call quality crypto, and it's what separates the winners from the losers.

"Stagnant"? Depends on where you look. In fact that could be a very good way to get a head start on separating winners from losers (again, after first filtering out the scams).

I agree though, onboarding needs improvement, true enough, but those that want in on quality crypto aren't having any problems getting in now, are they? ;-)

Yeah I simplify it like that because over 10 years on BTC has little use in the real world. Blockchain has limited use in the digital world and the 'unbanked millions' slash 'poor bastards' were not liberated like crypto promised.

I obviously believe in the long game and that those managing the development are pushing for that future. I believe in Hive even. Now that the talk of SMTs is making some new buzz noise maybe the honeypot will start to entice outsiders.

You're right on filtering too because once a truly able project takes off then the hype ones drop off and the competition between capable ones strengthens.

I don't see big money as evil. They back potential when there's probability for future profitability. As communities people just don't have the capital to do it alone. Even crowdfunding/patron as an example of community backed ideas, is still using infrastructure owned and managed by big money.

Crypto has no answer to that beyond ideas.

Maybe like George Jetson flying freely, is the Blockchain Future, but the construction of that technology where we no longer need to interact with the old system of road infrastructure is nowhere in sight.

Look at little Elroy though.. he's pondering something!

To summarize what I think we're both getting at: it's all about reasonable expectations. 😉

I fully agree that there has been way too much pie-in-the-sky. It's the P&D heritage, and it's what has held back legitimate crypto by giving it all a bad name (not to mention confusing what is essentially very simple and easy to understand).

That's what we're up against. Reality as it is.

Oh! I find @johneyreacko viewpoint & perspective quite interesting. I think I'm gonna sit here for a while to see how this thread develops for the most hopeful and bullish in this place. Hahahaha

A Glimpse Into A Possible Hive Future

Oh yeah! I've heard from some time ago that there are emerging many new "Community Creator Tools" out there which would make easier to buidl a feasible web3s future with much less effort.

Just to name a few, by instance "notion.so, super.so, configtree.co, Gumroad, MemberSpace & Circle and many other with similar features specifically for the not so advanced web developer. At least to make the transition quickly from the Web2 paradigm to the most promising Web3 from a business and thriving ownership perspective and scope.

And perhaps, then it only remains to integrate those new communities developed with these new web development technologies and community creator tools with some simple plugin steempress style or something similar and accelerate these Community-run projects easier and faster within the Hive blockchain.

Perhaps, by clicking here, you might potentially find on your own, if you are really patient and curious, a lot more information of what I am talking about above.

But yeah! only if you are patient & curious enough. };)

Cheers!! :)

If we all stay positive, the rest will come naturally

So its only natural that projects built on grass root fundamentals will succeed long term. Communities simply never had the tools to organize in ways we do today. We are our own gatekeepers now.

SO TRUE AND THATS WHY WE SEE SO MANY DO GOOD
PHC, LADIESOFHIVE AND GEMS

I think that a great new chapter and after just a few months, this is a good accomplishment but we need to step it up more

Web2 investors are in for a rude awakening with their "Costco internets" aka, semi-centralized projects made for the sole purpose of enriching seed round investors.

So true

You're no longer just a content creator, you're now a business ...

Using your own start-up capital to buy HIVE to get going, right?

... but what's to keep the 'Costco' guys from setting up shop here too?

😐

Lol they called the bluff.
Went all in.

All your chains are belong to us.
IMG_20201006_141910.jpg

This dream of web3 belonging to the people is ludicrous. How exactly are the people going to be gatekeeping?

Money = business = money.

Tokenisation out of thin air is just code until someone buys in. The masses aren't cashed up. VCs get to select who gets bought because THEY ARE gatekeepers of money.

No doubt about it, just like there is no such thing as tokenisation out of thin air (aside from the scams), money is its own gatekeeper (capital's first and foremost priority is self-presevation), BUT there are ways of mitigating the extremes, like democratic checks and balances, for example.

Utopia doesn't exist, but that is no justification for being defeatist - there are happy mediums, middle grounds that work well for all, that just take a little work and a lot of common sense.

Everyone needs to weigh in though, with their feet on the ground. Would like to see what @theycallmedan thinks about this ... I left a similar comment for @taskmaster4450 yesterday and got no reply there either ... but I'm not going to give up ... we can never give up trying to make our lives better ... even if Utopia doesn't exist.

Exactly and that's why I use that image because the money men WILL take notice once they smell blood. You're also right that token creators are paying for that privilege to be a creator because they are 'down the chain' .. Even if reviving old code the network must live somewhere where costs exist.

No matter how much we believe in these systems we can't just ignore the challenges and only talk about how great ideas can magically become the perfect system.

Lukestokes made a solid point on his blog recently. That it's easy to speculate but extremely hard to actually build.

Nice outlook but long way to materialize.... hoping for best

it's a lot closer than you may think. ;)

Eureka!

I really like your perspective about what Hive could be in a future, and the idea of each content creator having their own token sounds interesting. I hope it happens in a medium time.

If you click create it takes you down a path to easily creating your own token and setting up your ad system. With just a few clicks you have your own .com domain attached to your immutable open-source site and community.

This part of it is what excites me the most. It reminds me of the WordPress and Blogspot of those day, except that we will be having something much more in forms of extra bonuses -- community and tokenization. By the time this happens, Hive would have redefined the internet of blogging and content creation.

Thanks for peering into the future.

I only see his story, poor dan @theycallmedan

Haha that ending though.

those who surf the web 2.0 are sailing in a dead sea

You're no longer just a content creator, you're now a business, creating ref links and giving out tiny portions of your token to new signups to your community.

I totally agree with this statement. We have to do more than just filler content to get added value here.

Well this will certainly be nice for those who are trying to build a brand. I'm not one for always thinking about branding, but the way you describe it, it sounds like I won't even have to, my branding can be just making an effort to connect with awesome people and the foundation will be set for me to monetize my lifestyle if I just show people that I'm contributing a lot of good to the world :-D
