I'm super stoked to be here on this new platform. I first saw mention of it last month when I saw an art competition shared on Twitter. It was written here and it was new to me as I had only seen medium or WordPress posts before.
I have been hearing about crypto currencies for quite a while and have been shaking my head every time I read something about the 'gubment' printing money without a care in the world.
I believe in freedom.
Ultimate freedom and that begins with self freedom. Importantly, freedom from the ineptitude of our governments.
My investigations led me to some popular tweeters on Twitter, now there's a sentence to say when you're on the tequila shots!
Sorry sorry sorry. I'm not great at focus. I started thinking that I should get into crypto but it's a daunting place out there and I didn't know where to begin.
Some were tweeting 'buy bitcoin'
Others were tweeting buy 'insert strange acronym'
Then I stumbled upon the art contest blog and it mentioned earning crypto by taking part in contests and blogging about art.
That's handy, I've been in bands and practice digital art and would love to share my stories and work.
That's me in the picture above. I will let you guess which one.

Yep it worked. That is how the blockchain works, you need a small amount of Hive powered up (HP), and then you can transact for free. Post and comments are also a type of transactions, and off course you can transact the coins as well, no fees included.

Hey thank you. Tbh, I did find out all very confusing. In fact I have no idea where to start. I saw the trending page but it just confused me more. I don't know discord, is that part of hive?
I will have a look at the link you sent. I was hoping to just find more normal folk but even finding people is hard
Hahah there are a lot of normal people here, dont worry. Discord is a service where you can chat. Its not only for hive. Its there so that the resources you have in hive wont get drained by asking all you need to know online. Its free, it was originally made for gamers.
Blimey, a real person. There's so much bullshit in the new section I find it hard to find anyone really now. Good to hear you heard about HIVE from Twitter, at least someone sees things.

If you are using peakd.com you can find it in 'Edit Settings'. A background and an avatar. I think peakd.com works OK on a phone or mobile device.

Thanks man, I will check that community out and call in you of I need help. More help should I say, it took me long enough to figure out answering comments. I was using esteem but switched to peakd on the recommendation of someone else. It is easier
Aha, you are brave diving straight in to all the different apps! I used esteem a couple of times on mobile but found peakd to be the best offering so far. There is a new app in development called Dapplr which could be the mobile app we're looking for but until then, stick to peakd I'd say!
Peakd seems a little more obvious than esteem but I suppose esteem has the advantage of a mobile app. I hope the dapple app is good. Mobile is important to me.
Yeah I hear you, it's the way of the world with smartphones so the sooner a mobile app can be rolled out and tested in the first stages, the better. For the moment, you can still log in and use PeakD on your mobile, it's pretty well optimised but still requires to look through the browser in the mean time.
