February 2021 stuff

in #life3 years ago

It’s been over two weeks since I last posted on HIVE. 😯

I’ve managed to still be able to vote and curate via the ace @ecency app, but writing hasn’t been at the top of my list recently.

I don’t quite know where the time has gone.
Things have been busier than ever, mainly with the house sale.

Juggling viewings, solicitor stuff, negotiating prices, more viewings, mortgage stuff and everything in between.
It’s pretty exhausting. And we’ve not even had the trauma of moving yet.

All that whilst trying to keep a young family upbeat during this never ending circus of a lockdown here in the UK.

My son also had his birthday, which was a lot of work in itself.

The best present would be to see his friends but sadly that couldn’t happen 😔

Things could be better. Things could be worse.

Today I’ve been sorting out my office which has been awash with stuff from the house that I dumped there to put on eBay. Finally got around to sticking 5 items on eBay which should make us a few quid back.

I’m going to miss my drums but there’s no space anymore for them..

I’ve got a couple of music video shoots coming up in the near future too. As well as my more consistent live streaming work for my corporate client.
I’m looking forward to the music videos.
We’re shooting on a RED camera for the first time.

And I’ve got in some neon lights.

Anyway, I’m not sure what this post is really. Other than I want to stay connected to the Hive family. I’m still here.

I’ve got a big project to share with you in my next post :)

Cheers for reading, @ashtv.

Oh man shooting music videos on the RED omg what a dream, I will probably shoot mine on my phone 😃

Wow firstly thanks for the tip! Yeah you just missed the post by about 30 mins.

Secondly, yes indeed, the RED is incredible. 6K with incredible dynamic range. It’s the first time I’ve had a video shot on one - luckily a good pal is a RED owner and fancied putting it through its paces, so we had a great day with it.

I look forward to sharing the results. I’ll tag you in the post.

Also, no problem shooting videos on a phone. Images from iPhones these days are incredible. And it’s all about how you shoot and what you shoot rather than what you shoot on.

Keep up the good work man!

Thanks!! PLease do so I cannot wait to watch it!

My phone can film in 4k, I will give it a try in the next few days and will let you know!

Cheers and good luck for the shooting 😃

i know you mentioned moving, didn't know it is already here. moving sucks (at least the process of it)

what are you doing with Blacklight? i am thinking about what interesting should i do with it. i did not use it for almost a year from the glowing painting portraits.

It’s still very early days with everything really. But things moved really fast after it was put it on the market 😬

The backlights are going to feature in the video itself. The plan is to have them placed in various positions in the background and foreground, just to add interest against the darkness.
It’s going to require experimentation but I’m looking forward to it.

Shame that your son couldn’t have the traditional birthday, my daughter had same experience. Guess we’ll make up for it on the next one but can’t say my wallet looks forward to that. I think I’m one of the weird ones because I enjoy moving house, probably because I did a lot of that with my mum when I was younger. Hope the sale and the move goes well for you and I’m looking forward to see what this mystery project of yours is...

A similar birthday experience! It’s been a tough lockdown for sure.

That’s interesting about moving house. If you have exciting memories then that’s awesome.
That’s a good reminder that we need to keep it a positive experience for the kids.

We look forward to a fresh start in a bigger house for sure. We will miss our house (whenever it comes to leaving) because it holds so many big moments for the start of our lives and family.
It will be a sad day, but we’re ready for new things.

Ah yes, this project is a fun one! One with my eldest son :)

Ah man moving house sucks, pack as much as you can as early as possible is my advice!

And ebaying can end up taking a long time too, so do that well in advance!

Hope the move goes well, when you get around to it!

This is good advice! Thank you mate

I'm pondering getting a drum kit like that as I am getting into drumming now. Hope your move goes smoothly. I'm sure it will be a busy time.

Cheers mate :)

Yeah the kit is great for the money. I paid £120 second hand for it 2 years back.
Sadly electric kits aren’t actually as quiet as you might imagine.
The thud of the pads can easily resonate throughout a house!
Not ideal in a terraced like us.

I've been looking at some of the newer ones that have mesh pads that may be quieter. My other half watches TV in the next room, so it could be an issue if it's loud. No close neighbours though.

Yeah meshes soften the impact a bit. Even better you don’t have neighbours!
