Life Lessons We Can Learn From Deadpool

If there ever was a movie that I was jumping with impatience to watch, it was Deadpool 2 and suffice it to say, I did watch it on the day of release exactly a week ago.

Deadpool is such a different character than the rest of the superhero characters in the Marvel Universe and the DC universe that you just can’t help yourself liking the character even though he is certainly, by no means a role model!

That is why I feel kind of weird even writing this article because Deadpool is not someone you would expect to learn something from even though he does the right things, albeit in the wrong ways.

Anyways, now that I have begun, let’s do this! Here are some key lessons I learned from Deadpool as a character across both the movies.

Don’t Take Life Seriously

One of the defining traits of Deadpool is that he is just carefree. He is probably the most carefree character in the universe! It almost makes you feel sorry for yourself if you make the mistake of comparing your life with his! lol

Most people we come across, including ourselves by the way, are very serious about life and they walk through life with a frown on their forehead.

Even though we know he is just a character in a movie, and someone who just can’t be killed, so it becomes easy for him to be carefree… but still!

We can all aspire to be a little more like him in that we shouldn’t take life as seriously as we tend to do generally. Relax a little, have a soda or something!

Rules Are Meant To Be Broken

Nobody likes rules, am I right? But they are necessary as they maintain order. But that doesn’t mean we cannot bend some or even break some more if the situation demands it.

I mean, look at Deadpool. He breaks the biggest rule of them all as far as movies go. He breaks the fourth wall and interacts with the audience. He is self-aware that he is in a movie!

How cool is that? He also keeps breaking rules after rules and is someone who believes that the ends justify the means. He is an antihero superhero, so that is kind of expected.

Of course, don’t go on doing what he does but take lesson from the fact that you don’t have to be confined to your boundaries at all. Push them a little.

Teamwork Does It

The movie does an awesome job at portraying an invincible character like Deadpool, as someone who can be vulnerable at times. Even though he can’t be killed, he is often defeated by his opponents.

In the movie, he assembles a team of mutants called the X-Force to stop a time travelling cybernetic soldier from killing a mutant child.

It was also because of the team work between the many mutants that finally helped see the mission through. It is only when the different cogwheels work together that the machine is able to operate.

So, believe in teamwork and support each other. The same goes for life too. Surround yourself with some really good people and the mission of life will seem like a breeze!

Bonus: Roast DC Movies

If you watched Deadpool 2, you probably laughed your butt off at the roasting that DC movies received at the hands of our beloved antihero.

As a child I used to love the DC universe but the movie adaptations have not been good at all, and that is putting it mildly. So, I really enjoyed the jabs that Deadpool took at the DC universe.

My favourite ones? “I’m Batman”, “So dark. You sure you’re not from DC universe?”, shooting Ryan Reynolds before he is able to sign the Green Lantern movie and many more.

He even roasts characters from the Marvel Universe and it was such a delight to watch! Do chime in, in the comments section about how you liked the movie?

I love all of the SuperHero movies and the Deadpool movies are definitely "breaking the mold." I saw it on the day it was released, too. Definitely makes you sit back and think, "Whoa! This is not like other superhero movies." I gave you an upvote and a resteem.

I am a big fan of the superhero movies genre too and Deadpool is so unique.

I ll watch this movie for sure @sauravrungta. Deadpool series

Have a look at my work too if u have spare time

Yeah it's a must watch!

Taking life lessons from a character as crazy as Deadpool seems really counter-intuitive at first lol but hey, if it works, it works!

hahah yeah!! If it works, it works!

I have to admit I'm a DC fan myself but I absolutely loved Deadpool 2 it's an excellent movie, and I have to admit too that amidst all that violence, you were able to see through and come with a lesson to learn. Thank you for your post I really enjoyed it

Yep, hardly anyone would hate Deadpool. That is a great achievement I think.

Main lesson is "It is fine and fun to be serial killer"

This is something different I saw today , great post 😉

Yeahh it is!! Thanks :)

I loved the post Saurav.
You have mentioned quite the right things. I have come across so many people in my entrepreneurship journey in the last few years as a Business & Life Coach and have noticed how serious they are about life. Everyone is so stressed today to an extent where stress has become the sole reason for 90% of their problems. They attract so much of negativity, and things get even worse.

Keeping oneself within limits can’t lead to better perspectives in life, and that’s what I have personally learnt so far.

Again, it’s important for people to realise what you have mentioned about teamwork. Accomplishing big goals need help, and one should know how to leverage resources around, in the right way without hurting anyone's sentiments. Even the smallest of contributions from someone matters.

I have not seen the movie yet but looking forward to it.

You should definitely check the movie out. It's just awesome! I would like to hear what you think of it.

Btw, glad to see that you were able to resonate with my thoughts here. Thanks for reading!

I am looking forward to it.
Thanks for your recommendation. :)

I will watch it for sure and let you know my thoughts on it. :)

Amazing! You shaped it perfectly!
