What a wonderful night of music! Each act was unique, and VERY entertaining!
Honeybear started us off as we visited with friends we had not seen in a while. He sang us songs in a neo indie folk rock style. The audience loved the tenderness and the heart in his music, as well as in his performance with his very special guest.
Kalila did what they do best performing soulful music that activated the crowd! By activated we mean, the music got them on their feet to dance! In addition to original numbers such as "Hitchhiking" and "Jericho", they also treated us to an amazingly well performed cover of Creep by Radiohead.
Sunday Morning Detox performed a variety of covers with many different talented vocalists. The audience crowded 5 and 6 rows deep before the stage and came ALIVE during their set. This was SMD's night. Despite missing their vocalist, and playing none of their own original music. They rocked, they rolled, they got Continental Club to sing Sublime, to remember Axis Bold as Love by Hendrix, and other songs that they covered, in their very own SMD way.
Closing out the night, responding to a call for a closer just hours before, Ron and Blaze came out to enjoy SMD and performed very special acoustic versions of well loved Stonework songs, (outside talking to the door man we heard the crowd come cheer during TransAm!!) flamenco interludes, and even a bit of outlaw country!!!!
The Continental Club, Houston, TX staff was super friendly, courteous, PROFESSIONAL, and attentive to the music as well!. #Classy
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR MUSICAL HEART EVERYONE FOR A BEAUTIFUL NIGHT!
Thanks to all the music lovers that shared the experience. And a VERY SPECIAL thanks to all those who advance this culture with likes, shares, plays, comments for the acts they love.
