Reflections on the water

During my trip in Lower Austria at the "March" River most of the time I was doing wildlife and bird photography but there were also some occasions when I wanted to do some landscape pictures because of the beauty of the nature I found there. Because this place was part of the Iron Curtain a lot of this nature is still untouched, and you can enjoy a very diverse place for different kinds of animals and plants.

Another interesting fact is that the former border posts are still accessible there. There are several huts that were used by the military back in the time when the border between Austria and Slovakia still had to be protected. Now we have the luck in the European Union that the borders are open. The March is one of the rivers where you could easily walk over the border without much of effort, therefore the borders had to be protected very strictly.
