The very first word in Turkish that our friend told us when we arrived in Kemer was "İndirim", which means discount )))He said that this is the main word in Turkey :) And of course: merhaba (hello), teşekkür ederim (thank you) ...
With such an important vocabulary, we began our communication with the Turks :) We also know a little English and know Russian well. It turned out that most Turks know Russian better than English. However, in the supermarket we need almost no language: card or cash? Bag? - It's enough.

This week is not my long day, I started to clean the kitchen cabinets and I found some American games that were broken because I used my things to play outside, because I have rugs with bad fabric and it happened to me 🤔🧐 🤯💡 like to give-lhe um new use. I thought about doing some header abajures😉 and I also thought about using CDs and layers of CDs and layers of amaciante. Então come with me that these luminaries are faceis de fazer.

Today I am sharing another post as part of The Minimalist community. Every week they give you some blog post prompts/questions as a guide which is something I really like and I'll try to participate as much as I can. I have been inspired by minimalism for years and now I can finally share more about it within a community.

I only write in Afrikaans my home language when I write fiction and poetry. I only write in English when I write academic works and blogs. Funny how a language just sticks to a format. Anyhow, I thought why not try and translate one of my short stories into English and see how it goes? I started writing short stories in English in 2010. That was a long time ago, and since then I only stuck to Afrikaans. Yesterday I wrote this short story in Afrikaans, my first creative writing after my master's thesis (which I completed in 2021). So here I am going out on a limb to share with you a creative writing piece I translated into English. Please share your comments if you like this story or if you absolutely detested it.

We planned to travel by train for one day to the center of the country and return back. Our friends told us that we don't need to buy tickets several times when we go there and when we go back. But you can buy a combined one ticket, which includes both train travel in both directions and travel in public transport. At the same time, you can ride at least all day, the number of trips does not matter. The price of such a ticket is cheaper than the price of two tickets only for travel by train. In other words, it is very cost-effective! What is needed for this? This is a personal personal travel card.

There was an article in the newspaper this morning which did catch my attention. The war in Ukraine does impact all sectors, and apparently also the beer sector in Belgium. So yes even sectors you don't immediately link to the drama going on there. It appears that there could be a shortage in beer bottles! At least in Belgium. The reason for this is that one of the major beer bottles factories is situated just outside Kiev. And due to bombardments of the Russian the factory is heavily damaged. Add to that one of the major glass factories used to produce beer bottles is in Russia, which isn't allowed to export the glass anymore due to restrictions.

Welcome to the second part of Kemeraltı Bazaar. There are so many streets and so many historical places in this bazaar that I could not get enough of walking. I fell in love with each of the streets individually. I've collected a lot of advice for you. First of all, if you stop by Kemeraltı Bazaar, be sure to eat meatballs at Köfteci Mehmet. I think they have a few branches in this bazaar. It doesn't matter which branch you will eat at. Because all the meatballs are very tasty in all branches. I ate at the branch located a little further inside the bazaar, close to the Kizlar Agasi Inn. Employees are also very concerned about their customers. Anyway. I can't get enough of this market. I have one more piece of advice for you. If you live in a place close to Kemeraltı, I recommend you to spread your walking and shopping activities over a few days. Since I was visiting the bazaar towards evening, most shops were either about to close or had already closed. The streets were considered empty. The busy streets were also very lively. However, I did not neglect to stop by the florists and souvenir shops.

Remember those cartoons, way back when you were a kid; where the hero (or idiot) found himself suddenly in a field eyeball to red eyed bull. Inevitably the hero is wearing something red, including his attitude. My children like Shaun the Sheep. There is an episode where the unsuspecting Sheep finds himself eyeball to red eyed bull with a massive and bad tempered bull. The fleeing Shaun barely escapes with his red underpants intact.

This morning when I opened the digital news app of one of the most well known Dutch music platforms '3voor12', I read something that caught my interest in such ways I had to dig deeper. The electronic music industry is apparently ditching one of the big names in the techno scene, Nina Kravitz. I know her as a DJ and producer of techno. Apparently, she is a singer also (source). I didn't know that at all, though I've heard some creations from her own hands with vocals in more recent years. If I remember correctly, this was for the game Cyberpunk 2077. Though I did like her DJ sets back in the days when I discovered her, lately they don't touch my soul anymore. Her Cyberpunk 2077 work was maybe the worse of all. But all that aside. It is not my intention to review her work in this post, but talk about the somewhat disturbing news that various organisations in the industry are declining to work with Nina. Is she falling victim to the 'cancelling' culture we seem to have embraced?
