Signs and warnings

in #ocd4 years ago

I was looking at some photos from a few months back and decided to make an alternative edit. I used the PicsArt phone app since my adobe subscription has ended but it was fun to use a different software/app to get out of my comfort zone. It was a little challenging to begin with but I did a few photos as a warm up before doing this edit. I think it’s not that bad, considering I would have preferred using a software I was familiar with.

I based this photo on road signs but I think it’s even more relevant now than when it was taken a few months ago. With the current circumstances, there are increasing numbers of signs and regulations being enforced such as signs saying no entry, do not touch and telling us to stay inside. These signs are meant to reinforce the existing rules and restrictions, though I have found they sometimes have the opposite effect and have seen people often doing the opposite to what the sign is enforcing.

It’s also interesting to look at the reason why these signs are being ignored. Are the people breaking these rules, making a statement or simply being ignorant in their actions? Is it a statement of anarchy or simply inconsiderate to ignore rules?

I believe some rules are meant to be broken but it’s hard to know what rules are made to protect us or made to protect a broken system.

Hope you have enjoyed my post and would like to hear your thoughts and start a conversation.
Thank you.
