Pint sized and awesome!

My wife's OneWheel Pint arrived this morning I am starting to get excited. I can't wait to go out with my wife and teach her how to ride. I am going to have to wait a week or so until she is ready because yesterday she stepped into a pothole while walking in tall grass and hurt her ankle. Perfect timing, I know...

One thing I really like about this company is that everything about their product gets you excited to use it. When I opened the box that came in the mail, all I saw was "Life is about to get more awesome."

That is one of the greatest things about owning a OneWheel. It is an awesome addition to life and lets you experience normally mundane things in a very cool way.

For someone like me that has been so closed to dying many different times, it is the little things like this that I start to appreciate. After my last time in the hospital with blood clots, I couldn't exert myself too much without getting winded because my lung was healing. So my wife and I would go on walks all over our neighborhood to help strengthen my lung again.

Now since I have gotten my OneWheel, I go all over our neighborhood through all the different trails and I see so much more of the area that I live in. For me, the OneWheel represents a freedom to see more of the world.

For my cats, the Pint box is just another toy for them. If you look closely in the hole in the box, you can see Rusty inside of it. Him and Keiichi spent a few hours jumping inside of it and smacking at each other.

One of the things I love about the OneWheels is the ability to customize them and make them unique to you. My wife likes bright pastel colors, so I got her a bunch of the mint green accessories.

In this image, I was putting on the new bumper plates. It was pretty cool to take this apart and see the guts of it. This is the front battery and brains of the Pint.

The Pint has some newer tech in it over the XR that I have. It has a built in LED bar on the front foot pad that tells you how much juice you have left. It also has a "Smart Stop" feature that I wish mine had. On the Pint, you can get off of it by coming to a complete stop and then rocking it backwards. This turns the board's balancing and motor off, so you can dismount easier.

On the XR, you have to come to a stop and lift your front foot off of half the pad, which can be a bit uncomfortable to do. Another way to get off of it is to come to a complete stop and then jump off with both feet. Jumping off is a super easy way to get off, but it also make the XR roll and fall to its side and scratching it up, which sucks.

I brought both the OneWheels outside to take some pictures of them and show the size difference, and Keiichi decided that he wanted to go out and explore as well.

The tire on the Pint is significantly smaller, but I did ride the Pint around in the house and it is a lot easier to maneuver in tight spaces. I was even able to spin it around 180 degrees pretty easily. I am still trying to get the 180 down on my XR, but the wide tire and weight makes it a bit harder to do.

After putting the new bumpers on the Pint, I decided that I should put the white bumpers on my XR. There are still some more accessories that I am going to order for our OneWheels. They make some tiny wheels that go on the front of them called Fangs, that help prevent falling during a nosedive because it allows it to roll through it instead of just digging in and launching you off.

So what are you doing today? Make sure to get out of the house and live your life to its fullest. Who knows when we are all going to be back to a normal style of living. The important thing is to go out and make the most out of your days here.

cool! gotta get me one of them

You would love it. They are awesome

It will be fun to hear what your wife has to say about the Pint once she's had a week or so with it! 🙂 The closeup of the tire shows no tread, so I suppose riding on grass isn't possible? It would only go well on dirt and dry pavement?

You can ride it in the grass if you are already going, but trying to start in the grass is a bit tough. The wheel can tear up lawns too if you just let it spin in one spot. lol

WoW, These look cool. First I've seen of them... time to save up for sure. Too cool. Next level boarding from my youth.

That would be dope if you got one too. They are a ton of fun.

I bet I'd like one of those...

They are awesome

I was thinking about getting one but not sure if I’ll use a lot. I can’t decide pint or XR. XR almost doubles the price!

For your size, I would just go with the Pint. No need to get the bigger one. You would have a ton of fun with it if you did get one.

I was even thinking about some wild dreams like taking train from Europe to Asia one day with OneWheel lol. Seems a lot of fun to travel with.

I've seen videos of people traveling across France riding on one. It was a pretty cool looking adventure.

But it looks also a bit dangerous, XR is all terrain, will you get that offroad tire for pint too?

They are both all terrain. They have the same type of tires, the Pint has just a smaller one.

Thanks for the info! I’ll save for a pint, don’t have to bother with XR then haha.

Awesome. Now have fun guys and i hope it sticks :)

We will have a lot of fun with them.

WoooooHooooo! It's actually not as small relative to yours as I expected. Should be really cool for the two of you!

Sam and I had our walk this morning. I walked about 3000 steps and he dug about 300 holes. Everybody is happy :) For the afternoon entertainment I'll go out and check the mail before long. Encore for the walk :)

Nice. Hopefully that wore him out a bit. I am still trying to figure out how I can take my husky for a walk with my XR, but I don't want to run into him or have him pull me off of it.

The more you post about these things the more I get interested in it. I was skateboarding for about 10 years but stopped in my mid twenties. This thing looks fun, especially in that last clip.

I need one of these in the future. I probably couldn't get it in my country and if I did, it would probably be stolen in a second when I went out on the street. That new acquisition looks amazing.
