BcViewport, the Future View?

Lets take a few minutes to talk about Steemworld, and Beemee. Two very popular tools for viewing behind the scenes of the block chain in an easy to read/view manner.

One of the issues that steemchiller was having is the cost of running the equipment and storage. He decided to stay exclusive to steem block chain and to not port to Hive.

In comes Beeme, an individual utilizing the opensource version that steemchiller made available at one point. Jump to BLM history, and things changed.

In comes LeoFinance with Hivestats, a semi user friendly wallet and activity view. (I personally love the APR mention). Once again it seems it will be a Hive exclusive system.

Things to think about

There are a growing number of social block chains coming to light of day. Two new ones starting up soon are Blurt, and Zapata. In addition to the new steem fork chains there were in the past other steem fork chains, Weku, Whaleshares, and likely a few others I do not know about.

Since shortly after joining Steem Block Chain, I could see a potential for growth and was wondering when someone one would make a Chain front end to compete with Steemit's front end. (Remember this thought was when I first joined and prior to my learning about busy.org, partiko, esteem, steamspeak).

Front ends are growing, improving and making access and usage a lot easier. They are currently one chain viewers, I believe a multi chain viewer/front end would be great, and peakd/steampeak sort of semi I have this going in that you can switch steampeak to peakd in their front end. The reverse is not yet there.

This brings us back to Steemworld and Beeme. Cost is always a factor.

The vision/project

With the advent of multiple chains all working on similar principles this would be an Ideal time for a developer/HTML team to make a useful almost universal product to serve the multiple chains.

Enter BcViewport

Hello and welcome to BCviewport your portal to behind the scenes of your favorite social block chain. With BcViewport you can view information related to your account in an easy to see and follow manner similar to how steemchiller first presented his steemworld. With BcViewport you can now get a standardized look and feel in the following block chains:

  • Steem
  • WEKU
  • Whaleshares
  • Hive
  • Blurt
  • Zapata

As new chains are brought online we hope to continue to expand our offers.

So as to not run into financial issue there will be three view states. one in which up to six individuals can pay to have a post highlighted at the top where the current 6 days earning are displayed. in addition financial transactions will unavailable. At the bottom of the page so as to not be in the face of the user, (in the footer), a click through advertisement or two.

The display of stats and activities will always be available. So the three tier system I envision:

  • Tier One: The Vote wheel, stats page, and the activity page are all visible. The 6 day payout window would be replaced with the weekly paid for/promoted internal chain links, not outside advertiser links.
    • The balances tab would show the balances but wallet interactions would be greyed out. Basically all interaction abilities of the tabbed pages would be inactive with the single exception of the settings interactions.
  • Tier Two: Cost to re-add the 6 day Payout Window view and do away with the internal links would be 1 Steem/Hive/ect token for the token/block chain they are viewing, or 10 tokens for a year. In addition this would enable the Post, Coming Rewards, and Tools tabs, which would not be available in the basic edition. However enabling of the tabs would not enable any wallet type actions such as account creation tool.
  • Tier Three: All advertisements would be removed and all interaction would become available. The fee I see for this would be 5 tokens a month or 50 tokens for one year.

Once the initial page is created, then it becomes only a matter of changing names and in some cases perhaps how the information is retrieved from the Block Chain's API. By having its own page and site then the addition of new chains would not be that difficult an example of a couple of addresses would be:

  • BcViewport/hive/user,
  • BcViewport/Steem/user,
  • BcVieport/Blurt/user,

and so on as new chains are added.

In your court now

I do not have the technical knowledge on how to bring this about, nor the financial ability to make it a reality, and have never run my own business. This is just an Idea, I hope someone will run with it, I hope it will be built.

Feel free if you do decide to run with it to use the name I thought of or use something else. Branding is a very important part of any new software/product. Basic Chain, (Bc), Viewport I think is a good name. You are providing a basic view of behind the scenes of the block chain activity.

If you know of any developers/businessmen/businesswomen that may be interested please shout them out in the comments below. I think this could be a good opportunity for the person that has the ability and know how.

Sort:

You are so right, once you begin to ask around for suggestions for the best front end it appears that there are 567 more in development and ten more in beta that you hadn't even heard of. I must confess that as a technophobe who is being educated on this stuff very, very slowly I am often at a loss on the nuances between them.

However it seems obvious that a front end to access several chains seamlessly would be a priority. I remember masdacs looking like they would develop in this way but didn't quite bring the idea to fruition. I believe there are so many similar opportunities as yet un-tapped in other areas of the same ilk. Sooner or later somebody is going to 'clean up' by filling the gap.

I do believe we are heading in to a golden-age of blockchain development, the answer to prohibitive costs could be offset by a blockchain based, crowd-source funded project IMO.

Kudos on asking the right questions my friend, this has the potential to trigger the right mind to action in order to deliver the right answers. Have a great week :)

One day I think we will see block chain browser wars like in the old days of Windows explorer verse Netscape.

Received 1.000 HIVE from bashadow
The delegations I was receiving have ended, so I ended the one I had to you and my wife, so I can maintain a bit of a vote value.

Got the memo @bashadow … thanks for the past support.

You are welcome, I got a lot, and shared a little. And I like to read a lot of different things.
